Survivor HvV – Episode 2: “It’s Getting the Best of me”

So, I lucked out again, getting a chance to watch the second episode of survivor. I would like to say that while I’m very lucky, I have to say it’s more than just luck to get to watch Survivor.

Anyways, from what I understand, Rob is pretty much made the leader of his Villains tribe. I was a bit surprised, I thought we would see like Coach or someone try, but it’s better to see Rob as leader than certainly Coach, for sure. Rob complains about how his tribe is horrible at working together around camp, claiming once again, he’s stuck on the baffoon tribe. Meanwhile, at the heroes tribe, Rupert and Stephenie claim they are each other’s threats, which kind of surprised me, I thought Stephenie and Rupert, probably two of Survivor’s most popular heroes, wouldn’t clash.

Then, a near-dramatic scenario happened: Rob nearly passed out, and Jerri got him nedical help, in which the medical team and Jeff Probst come out to investigate Rob’s medical needs. It appears Rob is under the weather, but doesn’t have to be checked out, so he’s safe. I was actually kind of scared, I thought Rob was going to be taken out like Russell was.

Then it was time for the immunity challenge, a challenge derived from the Tocantins season. The two tribes had to roll down blocks and stack them to spell out their tribe name. The Heroes had a good lead, and a good strategy, let JT, who played this challenge, lead everyone. However, Stephenie and James broke into an arguement, causing the team of Heroes to fail, and the Villains once again took the lead away and won immunity, along with winning a tarp for their shelter.

At the Heroes tribe, things seem worse, when James confronts the tribe about not listening to JT, and then he talks about Stephenie, saying she went outlasted her tribe, connecting it to the tribe losing because of Stephenie.  I don’t get the connection, and didn’t understand what James was talking about, I believe Stephenie was certainly heroic for outlasting th tribe, and I’m not sure why James attacked her for that.

So, Stephenie, Colby, and Tom are tight. Candace and Cirie are tight, and it seems like James and Rupert were the main rally towards getting rid of Stephenie. However, Candace and Cirie are actually the swing votes. I believe this is the third time Cirie became a crucial swing vote in by day six or nine, again. She certianly has skills. Stephenie, Tom, and Colby try to pull Cirie and Candace into voting for Amanda, the next weakest player. So, Cirie and Candace, the swing votes, are talking about voting for either Amanda or Stephenie.

Tribal Council occured, and tension erupted between the Stephenie, Tom, and Colby alliance and James, as James once again points out it’s Stephenie’s fault for losing the challenge, because Stephenie always loses. Again, clearly not making any sense. So, it was indeed time to vote. It was Amanda who recieved three votes, and Stephenie who recieved three votes. The last two relevant votes were castedfor Stephenie, so over a 6-3 vote, Stephenie was voted off. As Stephenie left, she makes a harsh statement that got James telling her to shut up. Tom defended Stephenie.

I thought this episode was very great, I really was on the edge of my seat almost. It was obviusly dramatic. We saw a dramatic way of how real this show is, by seeing Rob needing help, and we see conflict in both tribes. I believe that there are two big potential good blindsides: James and Boston Rob. I know, but this is All Stars, it’s time for some of these players to try to step it up, because it looks like Rob could be running another show right now. He’s been proving he can lead the villains around camp and challenges.

I’m also noticing that there is clearly a bond between Jerri and Coach, that I clearly didn’t expect. I also notice that Randy seems more positive, and not so angry at the world. Also, Russell claims he’s still kind Russell, but didn’tadd that much to the show, other than catch a chicken, which made his show off his contribution skills. I’m still excited about this season, and hope to see more of it.
