I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – The Coming Out Show

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on December 9th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 20: Monday 7th December
No, the Coming Out show wasn’t about celebrities coming out of the closet, but rather coming out of the jungle.

The show showed each of the 13 celebrities exits with behind the scenes footage and interviews.

The show starts with Gino being crowned king of the jungle and the hosts introducing the show. They tell us that 3 voluntary exits is a record for I’m A Celebrity UK.

Camilla walks – Says she feels she let everyone down and won’t ever be able to watch the show back.

Katie walks – Katie is told that her boyfriend has been doing deals with the newspapers and so she dumps him.

All the friends and family of the 11 celebrities in camp gather to watch the first elimination.

Lucy eliminated – She is re-united with her husband and daughter. Later she meets up with Katie who tries to give her advice about making money from the press.

Colin eliminated – Colins mum says she’s really shocked it was Colin voted out.

We go back to Katie who says she’s going home and not staying for the final. She finds out that Alex (her ex) has been seen at her hotel.

Sam eliminated - Sam’s girlfriend is there to meet her

Joe eliminated – Says he was beaten fair and square in the challenge with Stuart. Joe surprises his wife at the hotel as she didn’t know he’d been eliminated. He embarrassed his wife by saying on camera that he is looking forward to having sex with her later that night.

George walks – George shocks his girlfriend who thought he was still in the jungle. First thing he does is go to the bar for a drink.

Sabrina eliminated – She says the memory trial with Jimmy was the best thing as it was so fun.

Stuart eliminated – He’s thrilled at the luxury of his hotel room and jumps on his bed.

Justin eliminated – Colin says Justin looked so good in leather during the trial. Justin tries to get Sabrina and Stuart to admit they want to start a romance.

Jimmy is 3rd – He is greeted by his wife. He says he will never go camping again in his life.

Kim is runner-up – Her best friend is there to greet her.

Gino is the winner – He is re-united with his 2 boys and his wife. He says it was an amazing experience and he never for one minute thought he would win. He shows us how he smuggled sachets of salt inside his shoes.

The show ends with the hosts saying they will be back in Australia next year for a 10th season.

The X Factor 6 UK – The Semi-Final

Posted in Graham's Blog, X Factor (The), X Factor 6 UK on December 7th, 2009 by World of BB

Note – This blog was written as the show was being aired, therefore my comments and predictions were made before I heard the judges comments and the actual result.

The Saturday Performance Show
We have reached the semi-final stage of The X Factor. Four contestants remain, but only three of them will make the final. The contestants will perform two songs tonight. Their first song will be a Michael Jackson song and their second song will be an open choice by their mentor.

1) Olly Murs (sang Can You Feel It by Michael Jackson)

Louis: Talented, can sing, can dance, deserves to be in the final
Dannii: Has the whole package, has to be in the final
Cheryl: You’re an entertainer and show be in the final
Simon: You have the presence of a star and must be in the final
My comment: A great all round performance, worthy of a finalist

2) Joe McElderry (sang She’s Out Of My Life by Michael Jackson)

Louis: An amazing tone to your voice, you have the talent to sell millions of records
Dannii: A superb performance, you have to be in the final
Simon: Getting better and better, one of the best versions of that song I’ve heard
Cheryl: I couldn’t be prouder, your best performance
My comment: It was a beautiful performance, he sang it with emotion and made the song believable

3) Stacey Solomon (sang The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson)

Louis: I wasn’t crazy about it, thought it was the wrong song choice
Cheryl: I disagree with Louis, I really enjoyed it
Simon: It was fine, but it just wasn’t you. Wrong song choice which affected your vocals
Dannii: The look suits you and you did it well
My comment: I don’t think the song suited Stacey, she would have done better with a ballad

4) Danyl Johnson (sang Man In The Mirror by Michael Jackson)

Louis: Incredible, I loved everything about your voice
Dannii: A really good performance
Cheryl: Really good, gave it 110%
Simon: Absolutely incredible, brilliant
My comment: He did the song well but not good enough to win me over

At the halfway point my order is -
1) Joe
2) Olly
3) Danyl
4) Stacey

5) Olly Murs (sang We Can Work It Out by The Beatles)

Louis: Another great performance, really, really good
Dannii: The song didn’t show the best of your ability, but I would still vote for you
Cheryl: I can see people voting for you
Simon: Taking everything into account you deserve to be in the final
My comment: I wasn’t convinced by that performance, maybe it was the wrong song, something just didn’t click for me

6) Joe McElderry (sang Open Arms by Journey)

Louis: If you recorded that tomorrow you’d have a number 1
Dannii: We all love you, you have to be in the final
Simon: You’re mentor chose a song that no-one knows, but it was 100% the right song choice. You’ve listened and learnt and deserve to be in the final
Cheryl: I pray to God that people vote for you
My comment: Top marks again for Joe, he is better than most professionals, a must for the final.

7) Stacey Solomon (sang Somewhere from West Side Story)

Louis: That was incredible, well done
Cheryl: That gave me goosebumps, the best you’ve been
Simon: You are back in the game, that was the Stacey I really like
Dannii: A perfect performance, world class
My comment: This was the perfect song for Stacey’s voice. I hope this makes up for her first performance. she deserves to be in the final.

8) Danyl Johnson (sang I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston)

Louis: Totally deserve to be in the final, you have the talent
Dannii: A good performance, but I didn’t love it
Cheryl: I wish you the best of luck
Simon: I believe you 100% deserve your place in the final
My comment: A solid, but unspectacular performance

My order based on part 2 songs -
1) Joe
2) Stacey
3) Danyl
4) Olly

My overall order -
1) Joe
2) Stacey
3) Olly
4) Danyl

My prediction -
I think Joe and Stacey are certainties. My guess that the ones at risk will be Olly and Danyl (who are the ones that have previously been in the bottom 2). My prediction is that Olly will be eliminated.

The Sunday Results Show
The first 45 minutes consisted of lots of voting number reminders a performance by Lady GaGa and a performance by Janet Jackson. The 4 semi-finalists also did a group performance of Wanna Be Starting Something by Michael Jackson.

The we come to result time (announced in no particular order) -
The first person into the final is….. Olly – when he name is announced, he is overcome with emotion and starts to cry
The second person into the final is…. Joe
The third person into the final is….. Stacey

Meaning that Danyl has been eliminated. Danyl closes the show with his performance of Man In The Mirror by Michael Jackson.

So we have the three finalists – Joe, Stacey and Olly. Danyl being eliminated shows once again how rubbish I am at predictions, although I’m pleased to be wrong as I agree with the public vote.

Also this weekend we had official confirmation that The X Factor will be back in 2010 – although this was never in any doubt given the huge ratings this show has been getting. Casting is now open at the official website.

So who do you want to win the final of The X Factor next week? Please vote in the poll and also leave your comments.

Who do you want to win The X Factor 6 UK?

  • Stacey Solomon (50%, 3 Votes)
  • Olly Murs (33%, 2 Votes)
  • Joe McElderry (17%, 1 Votes)

Total Voters: 6

I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – The Final

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on December 5th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 19, Day 22, Friday 4th December
After three weeks in the jungle we have reached the final.

The group react to Justin’s eviction and the realisation that they are in the final. Kim says she is in shock but very happy. Gino says it is unbelievable and Jimmy is overwhelmed.

The celebrities are shocked when they hear that they will each be doing a buck tucker trial today. They thought that there were no more trials – haven’t they seen the show before? the individual bush tucker trials for the final 3 happen every year.

Kim’s Trial is shown first. Her trial is called John Travolting. A part of her body is covered in insects. After 2 minutes a second part of her body is covered in insects and this continues until she has 5 parts covered. First her right leg has cockroaches and crickets, then her left arm has green ants that bite. Next her head is covered with large spiders. Her left leg with yabbis and finally giant stick insects on her right arm. She survives the 10 minutes and wins 3 fully prepared starters for evening meal and 2 special treats.

Now it’s time for Gino’s trial which is called The Bushtucker Bonanza. Gino must eat 5 things in order to get 5 stars.
1) A fermented duck egg (which he says is disgusting)
2) A rhino beetle
3) A live cockroach, a widgety grub and a handful of mealworms
4) Some beach worms
5) A crocodile tongue
He eats them all and wins 3 fulls prepared main courses for evening meal and 2 special treats.

Finally it is Jimmy’s trial and this one is called Flash Flood. He is chained up and put into a chamber. He must get 5 keys that are dropped in the chamber and use them to unlock the chains. The chamber will be filling up with water and other things like yabbis and water spiders. He gets 4 out of 5 within the time limit and wins 3 fully prepared desserts and 1 special treat.

After we are shown the bush tucker trials, the voting is frozen for a vote count.

Whilst the votes are counted we are shown more highlights of the previous day where they have a jungle awards ceremony.

After the the hosts go into camp and reveal that Jimmy has finished in third place. The voting re-opens for the winner which will be either Gino or Kim.

Back to the highlights and the 3 finalists enjoy their last dinner in camp and they get letters from their loved ones.

The hosts go back into camp to chat with Gino and Kim. Gino says that winning would mean that his 2 sons would be princes of the jungle. Kim says that winning would inspire other “old birds” out there. The phone lines are closed for the final time.

We are shown highlights of the whole 3 weeks and after an advert break it is time for the result.

The winner is…….. GINO.

Runner-up Kim is interviewed and says she is pleased to be runner-up as she didn’t expect to get to the final. She described camp as a hell hole.

Finally it’s Gino’s turn to be crowned King of the jungle. He says he really enjoyed every moment of it. His two little sons are brought on to hug him and sit with him on the throne. Last years winner Joe Swash hands over the crown to Gino and the show is over for another year.

Out of the three finalists I was pleased that Gino won. Kim was rather annoying and Jimmy was not as entertaining as Gino. I actually wanted Justin to win, but after he went my support went to Gino.

I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – Stuart and Justin are out

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on December 4th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 17: Wednesday 2nd December
There’s a snake in the camp and the experts come in to try and catch it but they have problems getting it. We aren’t shown if they do eventually get it or not. As this is happening the hosts have entered camp to tell them that Sabrina has been eliminated.

Today’s bush tucker trial is called Off Your Trolley and is done by Justin and Gino. Gino rides inside a shopping trolley and Justin pushes him around. They must find stars hidden in rotten food. Gino gets very messy during the trial with all kinds of rotten fruit and veg and bugs poured over him. They do OK getting 3 out of 5 stars.

Later in the day the contestants are given a task where they have to make a promotional video about camp.

The Celebrity Chest today was done by Kim and Jimmy. They had to find golden eggs hidden in a large cage of feathers. They get the chest, take it to camp and they finally get the question right and win a cream tea. When the cream tea arrives it is just 3 scones to share between 5 of them. The celebs are furious at this as they insist that cream tea for 5 people does not consist of 3 scones. They start a revolt and remove their microphones (although Kim is such a loud mouth that it makes no difference). In the end the producers back down and give them what they asked for.

Next the celebs weight themselves to see how much weight they have lost during the last 2.5 weeks. Stuart has lost 16 pounds, Gino 18 pounds, Justin and Kim both lost 21 pounds and Jimmy lost 22 pounds. They then have a conversation about if their penis will have shrunk because of the weight loss. Gino is concerned and goes off to the toilet to check it out.

Justin is then chosen by the producers to do an overnight challenge to win a luxury breakfast for camp. He had to spend the night alone in a cage. Just as he was about to fall asleep thousands of cockroaches were put in the cage with him. He makes it through the night and wins the prize for the group.

It’s elimination time. Jimmy and Stuart get the least public votes but it is Stuart who has to leave. In his interview he says he wants Gino to win.

Episode 18: Thursday 3rd December
The episode starts with them eating their luxury breakfast that Justin won in yesterdays episode. We are then shown their reaction to Stuarts eviction and Kim says she is shocked to still be there.

Today’s bush tucker trial is called Hell Hill Extreme. It’s basically the same trial they do every year when they are down to the final 4. All 4 celebs should do it, but Kim is ruled out on medical grounds (ie shes too old). They have to carry a star up a hill and reach a pole. They must remain there until all three are touching their poles. Jimmy goes first and reaches his pole with easy as does Justin who is next. Finally Gino climbs they hill. Just as he is almost at his pole a huge torrent of water rushes down the hill and washes him to the bottom. He quickly makes his way back up the hill and they win 4 out of 4 stars. The hosts said they did it in a record time, although that’s not surprising as there are usually 4 celebs doing this trial.

When they get back to camp they are told that there are 4 ice creams hidden in camp and they must find them before they melt. Kim has a strop saying she doesn’t want to do it as it is childish. But it didn’t stop her from eating an ice cream when the others had found them.

Kim and Justin do today’s Celebrity Chest. They have to milk goats to get a key. They complete it and again get the question wrong.

Next we are shown a compilation of each of the 4 semi-finalists time on the show and after that the celebs play a guess the newspaper headlines game.

Kim is given a secret mission where she has to have a conversation with each of the others using the word discombobulate. She is successful and wins them a bottle of champagne.

The celebs talk about how they hope that they will all remain friends forever. The hosts arrive to reveal the result of the public vote.

Gino and Kim are through to the final.
Jimmy and Justin are in the bottom two.
Justin is bottom and is eliminated, so Jimmy is in the final.

The final will take place today (Friday) and Gino, Kim or Jimmy will win the show. I think it’s safe to say that Jimmy will be 3rd place as he has been in the bottom 2 a number of times. I think that Gino will emerge as the winner.

I’m A Celebity 9 UK – George and Sabrina depart

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on December 2nd, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 15: Monday 30th November
At the start of the show the hosts tell us that George has walked out of the jungle. This means that today’s eviction is cancelled and instead the public vote will be nominations.

The first compilation of highlights shows George telling Kim he’s thinking of leaving. Later, George tells the camp that he will leave that evening after the meal. Everyone says they will miss him a lot. His reasons for leaving are that he likes everyone to leave and doesn’t want to win the show or survive an eviction over someone else.

Today’s bushtucker trial is Buzz Off. Sabrina and Stuart are chosen by the group. Sabrina has to wear a bee costume and walk along an obstacle course. If her helmet touches the rail then Stuart will get an electric shock and something dropped on him. Three shocks in a section of the course means they lose that star.

When Sabrina touches the rail for the first time Stuart gets a shock and yellow liquid falls on him. They lose the first star as Sabrina is not very good at this. They also lose the second star. They get the third star, but by now Stuart has green ants dropped on him and they are biting him. In the end they only manage to get 3 out of 7 stars.

We are taken back to camp and shown clips of George giving the men his wisdom about women and also we are shown some of the crazy things the celebs have been doing.

Today’s Celebrity Chest was done by Justin and Gino. They have to climb a high ladder to get the key. It is made difficult as there are wasps around them and they are both scared of heights, it also starts raining which doesn’t help them. They succeed and take the chest back to camp, but as usual the question is answered wrongly and they don’t get the prize.

The camp mates are given a challenge where they can win a chocolate cake. Each have a question to answer. If they get more than one question wrong then the cake drops into a box full of cockroaches. Everyone except Gino gets their question right so they win the cake.

In the evening, Sabrina sang a farewell song to George. They all say their goodbyes to him and he leaves camp. In his interview with the hosts he says he wants Gino to win.

The hosts then go into camp to tell them that the celebs with the least votes and nominated for eviction are Justin and Sabrina. One will be eliminated tomorrow.

Episode 16: Tuesday 1st December
The celebrities talk about how strange it is without George in camp.

Today’s bush tucker trial is called Memory Misery. The group choose Jimmy and Sabrina to do it as they have done the least number of trials so far.

They have to memorise the pictures behind 16 numbered blocks. The blocks are then turned around and the host asks them what picture is behind a particular number. If they get it right they win half a star, if its wrong then the other celebrity is gunged. Neither of them are any good at this and it ends up with them being gunged a lot and not winning many stars. It was probably the funniest trial so far. They ended up with just 1 out of 6 stars.

Back at camp the celebrities are concerned about the lack of food supplies and only winning one meal in the trial means they will have to skip lunch.

Today’s Celebrity Chest is different to usual. They all take part and have to balance a ball on 2 sticks. They win 2 tokens and can exchange them for a selection of items – they choose beans and salt.

Next it is the letters from home bit that they do every year so we can see them all crying. After that we are shown clips about them showering and keeping clean.

They are then given a quiz. The team of Sabrina, Gino and Stuart win the quiz and can leave camp and have a Karaoke with beers and peanuts.

At the end of the show the hosts reveal that out of Sabrina and Justin, it is Sabrina who the public have eliminated. She leaves camp and says in her interview that she is sad to leave the group but happy to be out of the jungle. She is asked if there is a romance between her and Stuart but she insists they are just friends. When asked who she wants to win she starts to answer Kim, but then changes to all of them.

So only 5 remain – Jimmy, Justin, Gino, Stuart and Kim. Assuming no-one else walks we will have an elimination on Wednesday and Thursday leaving 3 left for the final on Friday.

I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – Joe goes

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on November 30th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 13: Saturday 28th November
The celebs wake up and are talking about which of the three nominees will go. They we are shown their reactions to Sam’s departure.

They then talk about winning. Jimmy says he thinks Gino is favourite to win. George thinks it will be Stuart and Gino as the final 2. Sabrina thinks Stuart will be in the final, but Stuart disagrees.

Today’s trial is called Great Barrier Grief. The group choose Justin to do it as he is a very strong swimmer. He has to enter underwater chambers and do puzzles to get stars. He has 10 minutes to do it. He enters the first chamber which has eels in them. He gets his first star but then bangs his head on the chamber wall. The trial is immediately stopped and he is examined by the medic. He has a cut above his nose but it able to continue.

The second chamber has water spiders and crocodiles in it and he gets a bit freaked out by the spiders. The third chamber contained toads and yabbis. At the end of the trial he got the maximum 8 stars.

For today’s celebrity chest, Gino and Joe are chosen by the producers. Gino has to dress up in a chicken costume and drops eggs into a basket 200 feet below (Gino is scared of heights). They get the chest but again get the question wrong so don’t win the luxury prize.

The rest of the show is basically just a lot of non-memorable chat and a dull speed dating task. At the end of the show the hosts go into camp and tell them that Joe and Stuart receivedthe fewest public votes and are nominated for elimination. They will have to do a head to head bush tucker trial called Jungle Jail, with the loser being eliminated.

Episode 14: Sunday 29th November
The celebs discuss what they think jungle jail will entail.

Then we move on to the trial. Stuart and Joe are locked in a jail cell. The first one to escape and ring a bell will win. In order to escape they need to find various padlock combinations and keys. Some keys are hidden in an escape tunnel which contains over 10,000 critters.

Stuart is the first to find the combination and get into the escape tunnel. Joe is stuck in his cell. In the end Stuart wins the trial before Joe has even found his first combination lock. So Joe is the next celebrity to be eliminated.

Joe is interviewed live by the hosts and he says that he is glad to be out. He sames Kim drove him mad as she never stops talking. He wants Stuart to win.

Stuart returns to the camp and everyone is happy to see him as they wanted him to win.

Today’s celebrity chest is done by Sabrina and Justin. They had to ride on a roundabout and grab a key. They get the chest and again get the answer to the question wrong. They now have 1 correct and 7 incorrect answers for the chests, which is pretty poor considering that all the questions are multiple choice with only 2 answers.

The next segment is about Justin freaking out whenever he feels something land on him. Later, they are given a treasure hunt to do where they win a prize of one phone call home, After lots of discussion they give the phone call to George.

They are also given a small bottle of wine each which makes them all a bit tipsy. George has his phone call with his wife and he gets all homesick and later tells Kim he is thinking of walking out.

Finally at the end of the show the hosts enter camp to tell them that eliminated today is….. no-one.

The X Factor 6 UK – Week 8

Posted in Graham's Blog, X Factor (The), X Factor 6 UK on November 30th, 2009 by World of BB

Saturday 28th November: The performance Show

I’ve just settled down on the couch ready for 2 hours and 45 minutes of TV watching and blogging. First off is week 8 of the X Factor. This week we are down to 5 contestants and each will be singing 2 songs. First of all it’s a Take That song. Note, the blog was written as the show was airing, so I didn’t know the results at the time I made the comments.

1) Danyl Johnson (sang Relight My Fire by Take That & Lulu)

Louis: Really talented, got his mojo back
Dannii: The verses were very pitchy
Cheryl: You made it look effortless
Simon: Foot perfect and not perfect, I’m very happy with it
My comment: For me he’s the weakest singer left in the competition, I didn’t think this was a great performance vocal wise.

2) Lloyd Daniels (sang A Million Love Songs by Take That)

Louis: Much improved, pretty good but not great
Dannii: You always put on a great performance, although the tuning was off in the verses
Simon: Sang it OK, must show fire in the eyes, it was mechanical.
Cheryl: Audience absolutely loved it
My comment: He’s growing week by week, I liked it a lot

3) Olly Murs (sang Love Ain’t Here Anymore by Take That)

Louis: You’ve got your confidence back, deserve to be in the top 3
Dannii: The sparkle isn’t quite there in your eyes
Cheryl: It’s lovely to here you sing
Simon: Did a great job, sang the song well
My comment: A brilliant performance, top quality vocals

4) Joe McElderry (sang Could It Be Magic by Take That)

Louis: It was magic, gets better every week
Dannii: Flying high, you absolutely smashed it
Simon: It was brilliant, you looked in control, you were the star
Cheryl: It was flawless, you deserve to be kept in
My comment: Best performance of the night so far, he is the best vocalist in the competition

5) Stacey Solomon (sang Rule The World by Take That)

Louis: Getting better, you are a really good singer
Cheryl: A challenging song, hard for a female to sing a male song
Simon: Better than last week
Dannii: An amazing performance
My comment: I liked it, but there are stronger, better singers in the competition

Round 2 of tonights performance show featured songs by Elton John.

6) Lloyd Daniels (sang I’m Still Standing by Elton John)

Louis: You didn’t look like you was having a good time, it was nice
Dannii: Fantastic performance but also a shaky performance
Simon: Not as good as your first performance, was more amateur dramatics
Cheryl: I’m very proud of you, I hope wales keep you in
My comment: Enjoyable performance, I thought it was worthy of the top 3.

7) Danyl Johnson(sang Your Song by Elton John)

Louis: You always bounce back. I loved everything about it
Dannii: Great version, much better than your first song
Cheryl: You looked comfortable and confident, it was good
Simon: It was sensational
My comment: It was OK but not good enough to make the top 3. I completely disagree with the judges.

8) Olly Murs (sang Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting by Elton John)

Louis: There was something missing
Dannii: An absolute knockout, a smash
Cheryl: Did it really well, knock out performance
Simon: Great performance, you put your heart into it
My comment: Another great Olly performance, he looked like he was really enjoying it

9) Joe McElderry (sang Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word by Elton John)

Louis: You won round 1 and now you’ve won round 2, you were born to do this
Dannii: Sang it with the most passion, you have to be in the final
Simon: I’m gobsmacked by that, you’ve changed – the boy is now a man
Cheryl: You deserve a place in the final
My comment: He proves again that he’s by far the best, he has given the 2 best performances of the night

10) Stacey Solomon (sang Something About the Way You Look Tonight by Elton John)

Louis: I preferred round 1, but you should be in the top 3
Cheryl: Thought you did a great job
Simon: I didn’t like it, didn’t do you justice
Dannii: Brilliant performance, I really loved it
My comment: Better than her first song, but I think she is mainly getting votes because she’s the only girl left.

My order after today’s performances:

1) Joe
2) Olly
3) Lloyd
4) Stacey
5) Danyl

However, my prediction for who the public will eliminate is Lloyd.

Sunday 30th November – The Results Show

It’s Sunday night now and we come to the totally pointless results show.

From this week there is no bottom 2 or judges vote, it is the person who comes bottom of the public vote that goes. Why they need a one hour results show is beyond me. They could have easily added 15 minutes to yesterdays show and had the result then.

Anyway, after 47 minutes of padding, we get to the result. Lloyd is the one that finished bottom of the public vote and is eliminated.

Next week is Michael Jackson songs, and the last eliminated before the final.

There’s a poll that you can vote in on the right hand sidebar menu. Let me know who you want to be eliminated next.

I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – Sam is voted out

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on November 28th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 12: Friday 27th November
The episode begins with the contestants talking about who is being eliminated next.

Then they have to choose who will do the next bush tucker trial, which is called Scareway To Hell. They decide that as one of Sam, Jimmy and Sabrina will be evicted next, it should be one of them, and as Sam has already done a trial it should be either Jimmy or Sabrina. They draw straws and Sabrina is chosen to do the trial.

Then Kim has to stick her nose in and says that the decision is wrong and Jimmy must do the trial. There is a huge argument between Kim and Sabrina. But the end result is that once again Kim gets her way and Jimmy does the trial.

All this is bad news for Sam as Sabrina has got lots of airtime and sympathy out of the arguement and Jimmy will get lots of airtime from the trial. When it’s a vote to save, the public tend to vote for the ones they can see on screen and forget about the others.

At the trial, Jimmy has to cross a high-wire walkway to get stars. The stars will drop at various intervals and become inaccessible, so he has to be quick. At the end of the trial Jimmy gets 5 our of 9 stars.

Back at camp we are shown a series of clips themed about Geroge being a ladies man.

George also features in the celebrity chest which he does with Justin. They have to find 3 keys that are hidden inside hundreds or dead fish. They eventually get the chest but back at camp the chest question is answered wrong so they don’t get the prize.

The next segment is about Gino being horny all the time. Followed by the celebrities having a quiz.

Justin talks about how he dated a girl for a year before he met Colin and he said that he broke it off with her because it just felt wrong. Gino said that he once was very close to having a relationship with a boy but in the end nothing happened.

Elimination time, and as I thought, Sam was the one who was voted off.

All 8 remaining celebrities are now being voted for. The two with the least votes on Saturday will be nominated. They will then compete in a bushtucker trial called Jungle Jail. The winner will return to camp and the loser will be eliminated.

I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – Jimmy, Sabrina and Sam nominated

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on November 27th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 11: Thursday 26th November
First of all an apology. I didn’t realise that the episode was scheduled to start 30 minutes earlier than usual, so I missed the first half hour.

So starting from the point I switched on. Kim was talking about her hair and how it was disgraceful that the producers had removed her hair conditioner (it was removed along with all other luxury items when Katie entered). She made a huge fuss about it, but surely the producers wouldn’t back down and return it.

Next we are shown the latest celebrity chest. Gino and Sabrina are the ones that do it. They have to cross a ravine on a tight-rope to get to another camp. When they arrive at the second camp they have to move the hand of a clock back to 12 before it reaches the 6 (ie 30 minute point) and must do this until the following morning. So after staying awake all night, they pass the challenge at sunrise and win the chest which is full of tins of food.

Back at base camp and Gino finds a tick on his neck. Of course Joe has a doom and gloom story about how ticks can kill if they get onto the head and into the brain. Joe’s stories are annoying everyone.

Next we are shown a segment about George and him talking about all the Hollywood greats that he knows.

To answer my earlier question about if the producers will back down in their stand off with Kim and her hair conditioner. The answer was yes. Because the contestants were given a task of counting bugs and the prize was the return of their luxury items. They did rubbish in the task and only won 3 back (of course one of them was Kim’s).

The celebrities have a discussion about what they want to be doing in 5 years time. Stuart says he wants to be married with children. Justin says he still wants to be happy with Colin and for them to have children. Gino says he would like to adopt a little girl.

On to the elimination. Although there isn’t one, the contestants didn’t know this. The hosts go into camp and reveal who the bottom 3 are – Sam, Sabrina and Jimmy. But actually none of them were eliminated, rather they were nominated. The public will vote for which if these 3 will be eliminated (well actually its a vote to save, so they vote for who they don’t want to be eliminated). The elimination will take place tomorrow (Friday).

I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – Colin out

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on November 25th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 10: Tuesday 24th November

The show starts off showing the camps reactions to Lucy’s eviction. It didn’t seem like many of them were shocked by the result.

The next bushtucker trial is called Slip and Slide and it was decided by the contestants who should do it. Stuart and Gino were chosen and basically they had to get inside two giant tubes that were balanced horizontally in the air and collect stars whilst keeping the tubes balanced. The trial didn’t prove to be a problem for the boys and the got 10 out of 10 stars.

Next, we head back to camp where Gino tries to get Sabrina to admit that she has fallen for Stuart. She acts all embarrassed and won’t admit anything.

George has a conversation with Stuart about who he thinks can win the show and he says nice things about Stuart. Stuart goes off on his own for a bit of a cry, he later explains that it brought back memories of his father who died a couple of years ago.

In the evening the contestants play a game of truth or dare. Whether the game was very tame or it was a short game, I don’t know, but they didn’t show much footage from it.

The hosts went into camp to announce the result of the second eviction vote. The two with the lowest votes were Colin and Joe and the one with the lowest votes was Colin. Colin left the camp, leaving behind a tearful Justin.

The result wasn’t really surprising to me. When it is a vote to save and 10 contestants to choose from it is either the disliked contestants (ie Joe) or the quiet ones (ie Colin) that get evicted.

There is no show on Wednesday due to live football. So the next show is on Thursday. I think that Thursdays eviction has been cancelled due to Katie walking on Monday, so the next eviction should be on Friday night.

As there is no eviction vote open, the public can vote for the next celebrity to do the next bushtucker trial. The trial is called Jungle Arms and looks like another eating bugs type trial.

It’s about time I did a list. So to steal Dan’s LLNMD scale:
Love: Gino, Justin, Sam
Like: George, Sabrina
Neutral: Stuart
Meh: Jimmy
Dislike: Joe, Kim

My prediction for the next one to go is Jimmy.

The X Factor 6 UK – Week 7

Posted in Graham's Blog, X Factor (The), X Factor 6 UK on November 24th, 2009 by World of BB

Saturday 21st November: The performance Show

The X Factor is in week 7 of the live shows and this week is George Michael week. Here’s a review of the judges comments of the contestants performances together with my own comments. Note, the blog was written as the show was airing, so I didn’t know the results at the time I made the comments.

1) Lloyd Daniels (sang Faith by George Michael)

  • Dannii: He looks fantastic
  • Louis: Love everything about him except his voice
  • Simon: Wasn’t bad at all, look better and believable, very good
  • Cheryl: Looks adorable, your best performance yet
  • My comment: Was a decent performance, not his best but should be good enough to see him through to next week.

2) Stacey Solomon (sang I Can’t Make You Love Me by George Michael)

  • Louis: Will definitely make the final 3
  • Cheryl: Great song choice, she could win
  • Simon: A genuinely nice person, not as good as last week, a bit mechanical.
  • Dannii: Elegant performance, dreams can come true
  • My comment: Last week she had the best performance of the show so far, not as impressive this week though

3) John & Edward (sang I’m Your Man/ Wham! Rap by Wham!)

  • Dannii: Wow! Singing was in tune and it was fun
  • Cheryl: Should be proud of yourselves
  • Simon: Louis gives you too much to do. You’ve converted people over to you
  • Louis: You are connecting with young people, the public love you
  • My comment: Another fun and entertaining performance from the twins

4) Danyl Johnson (sang Carleless Whisper by George Michael)

  • Dannii: Sang it perfectly
  • Louis: Tried too hard
  • Cheryl: Parts were flat but the image and performance were fantastic
  • Simon: Was so good, original
  • My comment: Has got a great voice, but I just didn’t like this performance. Tried to make the song different and it didn’t work

5) Olly Murs(sang Fastlove by George Michael)

  • Dannii: Really polished by first half had tuning problems
  • Louis: Nothing fake about him, has potential to win
  • Cheryl: Has broad appeal, always delivers, really enjoyed it
  • My comment: Very good performance from the front runner to win the show

6) Joe McElderry (sang Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me by Elton John and George Michael)

  • Dannii: Exceptional, deserves to be here
  • Louis: Best performance of the night
  • Simon: The performance of his life, 100% nailed it
  • Cheryl: Stole the show, I’m bursting with pride
  • My comment: Amazing performance, the best act left in the competition and deserves to be the winner
  • Joe received a standing ovation from all 4 judges

My order after todays performances:

  1. Joe
  2. Olly
  3. Lloyd
  4. John & Edward
  5. Stacey
  6. Danyl

My prediction for who will be in the public bottom 2 – Lloyd and Danyl with the judges voting out Lloyd.

Sunday 23rd November – The Results Show

The bottom 2 as voted by the public were John & Edward and Olly. I was very shocked Olly was there, as I thought he would be in the top 2.

John & Edward(sang No Matter What by Boyzone)

My comment: Sounded dreadful, big mistake singing a slower song

Olly Murs (sang Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton)

My comment: A solid, but not spectacular performance, definitely enough to go through.

  • Simon voted to evict John & Edward
  • Cheryl voted to evict John & Edward
  • Louis voted to evict Olly Murs
  • Dannii voted to evict John & Edward

So John & Edward are evicted by 3-1 votes. Although it may not be the last we see of them as there are rumours that they will fly to Australia to be contestants in I’m A Celebrity!

I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – Katie walks and Lucy is evicted

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on November 24th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 7: Saturday 21st November

The episode started off with all the contestants in Base Camp moaning about Joe. Joe is clearly going to be the source of all the arguments this year, most of the others seem to get on well. But Joe seems to be intentionally saying things that annoy them all (maybe he was given this brief by the producers when he entered).

We move on to Katie and Kim’s trial, which is the eating trial that they have every year.

First, they have to eat a fish eye. Katie tries but spits it out and gives up. Kim manages to swallow it and wins one meal for Exile Camp.

Next they have to each eat a live cricket and a live cockroach. Neither have too much problem and both win a meal for their camps.

The third thing they have to eat is a kangaroo’s anus. Both manage to eat it, Kim downs it with ease.

Widgety grubs are next on the menu. Again both manage to eat one.

Finally, they each have to eat a kangaroos testicle. Katie refuses to even try it, and as this one is worth 3 stars, she misses out on 3 meals for her camp. Kim really struggles with it, but eventually she manages to eat it.

In the end, Katie wins 3 out of 7 meals for Base camp and Kim wins 5 out of 5 meals for Exile.

After the trial we are shown clips of how Kim talks to her clothes and there’s then some conversations about being a celebrity.

Next is today’s Bush Battle. Lucy, George, Kim, Gino and Sam compete in a fishing rod challenge where they must ensure that the ribbon tied to the line does not get wet. Kim and Lucy were the joint winners. Kim won the tie-break question and is immune.

Finally we are told the result of the public vote for the bush tucker trial. Joe and Katie get the most votes and again it is Katie that has to do the trial.

Episode 8: Sunday 22nd November

The first segment of clips centres around Stuart kept awake by Kim’s snoring. Then we move on to another bush tucker trial by Katie.

This one is called Car-lamety. She has to sit in a car that goes along a track and she must collect stars on the way. At the first stop a barrel of slime drops on her and amongst it she finds 3 out of 3 stars. Stop 2 and she has to eat bug food and shake, she gets 2 out of 3 stars. At the third stop she has to find stars amongst the spiders and cobwebs, she gets 3 out of 3 stars. Finally it is the car wash and again she gets 3 out of 3 making a total of 11 out of 12.

Later in the show we are shown the final Bush Battle for immunity between George, Gino, Lucy and Sam. They have to sit in a boat and ring a bell when they think exactly one hour has passed. Amazingly, George rings his bell and is only 2 seconds out, he is the final immune contestant.

  1. George = 59 min 58 sec
  2. Lucy = 67 min 13 sec
  3. Sam = 71 min 39 sec
  4. Gino = 71 min 48 sec

So Gino, Lucy and Sam are up for eviction and the public are voting to save. One will be evicted tomorrow.

After the bush battle we are shown a huge argument between Kim and Joe. Justin tries to calm things down but Kim just doesn’t let it rest.

Finally we are told that Joe and Katie got the most public votes and have to do the next trial. Katie says that she will refuse to do it.

Episode 9: Monday 23rd November

At the start of the episode Exile camp is no more and the contestants are all now in Base camp. Katie refused to do the trial and decided to leave the show completely.

As Katie has gone, Kim (who got the next highest number of votes) had to do the bushtucker trial with Joe which involved getting stars from a pit containing 20 black headed python snakes. They did well and got 9 out of 11 stars before the time ran out.

Next we get a long interview of Katie by the hosts. Considering Camilla who also quit, never got an interview, it was a bit off that they spent so much time on Katie. I think anyone that walks off the show does not deserve the airtime.

The hosts go into camp to reveal who out of Gino, Lucy or Sam is the first evicted. We are told that Lucy got the least public votes andhas to leave camp. We then get a very hurried interview with Lucy before they run out of time (thanks to Katies earlier interview).

All 10 remaining contestants are now up for eviction.

I’m A Celebrity 9 UK – Stuart wins immunity

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on November 21st, 2009 by World of BB

Friday’s show started off with a segment showing how the two camps are adjusting to the split.

In Exile Camp they deal with their hunger by catching, killing, cooking and eating a rat they found in camp. They all agree it tasted nice and had a chicken like taste to it.

The next part of the highlights shows Katie’s latest bush tucker trial – Hell Holes Extreme. She has to climb up a rock-face and put her arm into holes and search for stars. As well as stars are other creatures like beetles, spiders, rats, snakes etc. She manages to get 9 out of 12 stars. Which means 6 meals for base camp and 3 meals for exile camp.

After the trial we are shown a few clips of how Joe is starting to annoy everyone. Joe has lived in Australia for a number of years and thinks he knows everything there is to know about the Aussie jungle.

We then move onto the first Bush Battle. In the Bush Battles, the contestants in Exile Camp will compete. The winner will get immunity from the first eviction and will move to Base Camp.

This Bush Battle has then covering holes in a tube. If they move their figures the holes will be exposed and the liquid in the tube will escape. The last one with liquid in the tube will be the winner. George plays mind games with the others and convinces them that after the count of 3 they should all let go and quit the game. On the count of 3 Lucy and Sam let go, but George doesn’t and finds it amusing how easily they were tricked into quitting. Eventually Stuart wins the battle and is immune from the first elimination.

After the bush battle we see base camp welcoming Stuart and in the evening Joe moans about the way Sabrina cooked dinner. It ends up with Joe being nasty to Sabrina and making Justin cry!

At the end of the show we find out who the public voted for to do the next Bush tucker trial, which is called Vile Vending. Katie gets the most votes once again, and she will have to do the trial with the highest voted member of Exile Camp. Lucy and Kim were the top 2 with Kim getting the most votes and doing the trial. We will see Katie and Kim in Vile Vending during Saturday’s show.

That’s it for now. I’ll review Saturday and Sundays shows on Monday.

I’m A Celebrity… 9 UK – Camilla quits, Joe arrives

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on November 20th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 4 – Wednesday 20th November

Every year there is a live bushtucker trial, and this years will be hold in today’s episode. As usual the public vote for who they want to do it, and as usual they will probably vote for the same person they have voted for all week.

More on that later, firstly, the show starts off with a segment about Kim’s very loud snoring. Well she’s loud in every other aspect, there was no reason to think that her snoring would be any different.

The next part of the episode is highlights of Katie’s bushtucker trial, Celebrity In A Bottle. She had to lie down inside a giant glass bottle and correctly answer six questions about Australia. In the bottle with her were 2 buckets of meal worms, 60,000 cockroaches and 10,000 crickets. She got 3 questions correct which meant she won 6 meals out of 12 for camp.

The next segment featured Kim going on at Katie about how much Katie loved publicity (stating the obvious there), then Stuart and Sabrina did the celebrity chest and showed how rubbish they are at maths.

Then we got to the first celebrity to exit the camp this year. Camilla decided that she would walk because she was feeling too weak to continue. No-one seemed to try and persuade her to stay (not even the producers) and so she left the show almost immediately. Camilla’s departure isn’t much of a blow – in fact she had been so much in the background that had they have not shown her departure it could have been days before I noticed she was missing.

The next segment dealt with the arrival of Camilla’s replacement. His name is Joe Bugner and he is a retired former heavyweight world boxing champion.

The final 40 minutes of the show are taken up with the live trial. Joe was immune from the vote as a new contestant. The hosts read the results and guess what…. yes, the public have voted that Katie will do the trial (Justin again received the second highest number of votes).

Now the first year that this voting pattern happened it was really funny to see the same person being picked on by the public day after day. But now it’s got to the point where it is just boring. I want to see some of the others doing the trials.

Anyway, we get to see Katie being covered in goo and insects yet again.

The trial is split into different parts and takes the form of a school classroom theme.

1) She has to put her face in green goo.
2) She has to put her face in a tray full of meal worms (the point of the goo part was so that the meal worms now stick to her face)
3) Collect 3 words from a sphere which was full of snakes
4) Get into a pool of baby crocodiles (that had their mouths tied closed)
5) Drink a beetle juice shake
6) Pour liquid from a test test into a container whilst wearing gloves filled with green ants
7) Get into a pool of eels and solve a maths equation
8) Put on a coat which is filled with cockroaches

She did well at the trial and scored 9 out of 12, meaning 9 meals for camp. The ones she failed on were parts 5 and 7, she also got 1 out of 2 in part 6.

Episode 5 – Thursday 21st November
I guess the producers realised that the show was getting rather boring – no major fights or tension and no major talking points. So today they decided to split the camp into two and turn it into a bit like Survivor.

Before that we were shown clips of Joe’s first morning in camp, then a repeat of yesterdays live trial. Then were were treated to a conversation from Kim telling Justin to have his moles removed from his face. After that it moved onto Katie and her personal life and then how horny Gino is in camp.

Finally we get onto the camp split. Two team captains are chosen at random and they are Colin and Lucy. They then have to choose who they want on their team and the split is

Colin’s Team – Colin, Justin, Katie, Sabrina, Jimmy and Joe
Lucy’s Team – Lucy, Gino, Stuart, George, Sam and Kim

Next comes the immunity battle. The winning team will be immune from the first eviction and will live in base camp. The losing team won’t have immunity and will live in Exile, which will be even more of a dump than base camp was.

The challenge is a classic survivor challenge. Each contestant holds a pole and has to keep a button pressed. They last one remaining will win immunity from their team.

Gino is out first, followed by Justin. In the end it is Sabrina and Stuart. After over 2 hours Stuart suffers from severe cramp and Sabrina is the winner. Sabrina, Colin, Justin, Katie, Jimmy and Joe are immune from the first elimination. The other team will get chances to win individual immunity in the coming days.

The episode ends with the results of the next Bushtucker trial. It’s called Hell Holes Extreme and George and Kim are immune on medical grounds again. Gino and Katie get the most votes and yes, you’ve guessed it, Katie got the highest votes and will do the trial. We’ll see that on Friday’s episode.

I’m A Celebrity…GMOOH 9 UK – Katie arrives

Posted in Graham's Blog, I'm A Celebrity 9 UK, I'm A Celebrity GMOOH on November 18th, 2009 by World of BB

Episode 2 (Monday 16th November)
It’s day 4 in the jungle and we have a segment about Camilla not being able to sleep.

Then it moves onto Kim’s bushtucker trial. It’s called Dreaded Descent and she is locked in a perspex box and lowered underwater. She has to collect stars amongst the creatures (yabbis, cockroaches etc) that are dropped in the box a regular intervals over 10 minutes. As I expected she coped with it very well and managed to collect all 11 stars.

The rest of the show is taken up with Katie Price entering. Katie was a contestant on the show 6 years ago. She had to do a special trial before she entered which involved her collecting balls in water and putting them in a basket. She collected 7 balls and that meant 7 treats for camp (like coffee, sugar, chocolate etc.) However, in order for her to get the treats she had to agree that all the contestants luxury items be taken away from them. She agreed to this.

I guess the producers were hoping that having their luxury items removed would create tension but actually they just handed them over and nothing more was said about it.

Katie joined the others and everyone continued to get along nicely.

The public vote for the next trial was predictable. The trial is called Deathly Burrows and the public voted for Katie to do it. That wasn’t surprising given that the whole episode had centred on her so she was the only one in the publics minds. We will see the trial tomorrow.

Episode 3 (Tuesday 17th November)
The first segment of clips features George going on about how great the British people are and about how everyone is pulling together and getting on well. Hopefully he will change his opinion of the British in a few days or we are in for a boring 3 weeks.

Next we are shown Katie’s trial – Deathly Burrows – she has to crawl through underground tunnels and burrow through walls to find stars. She managed to get 4 stars before they poured water into the tunnels and she shouted for the trial to stop. She seemed to be having a minor panic attack as she was being pulled out. Her reaction to the trial will ensure that the public chooses her again every day now as that is how the public always vote for the trials, choosing the same person every day. So far there is no hate figure in the camp, until one emerges Katie will just get picked on by the public.

The rest of the show was pretty dull, we had segments about breasts, farting, cooking and Katie’s hellish 2009, also we were shown Jimmy and Lucy getting the celebrity chest.

The next trial is called Celebrity In A Bottle and surprise surprise, the public voted for Katie to do it. Interestingly, the person that has received the second highest number of votes all 3 times has been Justin. I’m not entirely sure why the public have taken a dislike to him.

We will see Katie’s trial as well as a live trial in an extended episode on Wednesday.
