The Amazing Race US 16 Cast Announcement

Posted in Amazing Race (The), Amazing Race 16 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog on January 21st, 2010 by Dan

The Amazing Race has finally been revealed by CBS. I personally knew the names, relationships, and personal information of the cast a while ago, I just waited for this to be revealed by CBS, who officially should be announcing everything, CBS just announces everything later than the actually cast spoilers. The Amazing Race will premier February 14th, right after Super Bowl week. This season features eleven teams, meaning we shouldn’t be starting with a twist, unless I hear otherwise. So here we go, announcing the teams.

Caite & Brent – This is a dating couple from South Carolina.  They are both models. Caite is famous for her embarrassing failure to answer her question on Miss. Teen USA’s pageant. Ironic for TAR, her Pageant question was about kids knowing world geography, something Caite knows nothing about apparently. She’s also the first ever underage contestant, excluding TAR8′s kids. She’s the fourth age exception made by CBS, requiring Reality participants to be 21 (before 2009). Michelle (BB4), Daniele Donato (BB8), and Frosti Zernow (Survivor China) were the other exceptions CBS made. Maybe if Caite becomes a star racer, she’ll convince the producers to lower the age limit to 18, just like wat Survivor did.

Carol & Brandy – This couple is a dating couple from Los Angeles, CA. They are a lesbian couple and they’re the second lesbian couple to be featured on TAR. Carol owns her own business and Brandy is an actress, but Carol and Brandy are much older than most models/actors featured on Reality TV. Both Carol and Brandy are in their forties.

Dana & Adrian – They are a married African-American couple from Arlington, Texas. Both Dana and Adrian are owners of a business.  They are one of two African-American teams, in which I believe only two other seasons (TAR1 & TAR3) has two African-American teams. They seem to be very deeply into their religious beliefs, which is cool, I always love that.

Jet & Cord – They are brothers, who are also both cowboys, aka cattle ranchers. They both reside in towns from Oklahoma. They actually look like a very smart team, and I don’t believe they fit under any rancher/cowboy stereotype, other than being Cowboys, of course.

Jody & Shannon – This duo is a grandmother & granddaughter team, making the first ever grandmother/granddaughter team TAR has had and the second grandparent/grandchild team (Nick & Don, TAR12 were first). They both have a passion for athletics and fitness, yes, Jody, who is 71, making her the new oldest contestant from TAR, still runs marathons and is a personal trainer. I usually doubt the success of female teams, and especially teams with older team mates, just because I still remember all the other winners, but I actually see a potential in this team.

Joe & Heidi – This couple is a Asian-American married couple who run and coach a sports youth program in their won, El Segundo, California. I believe they are the first Asian-American couple with a romantic relationship. I believe that a coach of spots, for kids is a good way to use those skills for The Amazing Race, so I see potential in this team as well.

Jordan & Daniel – This duo is a team of brothers, making us having two brother teams this season. They are extreme sports’ activists, or mostly I believe Daniel is, as they are fans of the New England Teams. They are both from Barrington, Rhode Island.

Jordan & Jeff – This couple is a newly dating couple from different states. Jeff is from Illinois and Jordan is from North Carolina. They met on last year’s season of Big Brother, and were Big Brother 11′s seasonal sweethearts last year. I know from last year on Big Brother that I’m sure Jeff will be a decent racer, I’m just not sure about what Jordan can do for their team on the race. I expect more from Jordan than Caite, though. Also, they are sixth & seventh racers to come from a former Reality show. Rob/Amber, Alison TAR5, Britney Rogers TAR8, Greg TAR7 were previous ones.

Louie & Michael - They are friends & detectives from Providence, Rhoda Island. Okay, it’s very unusual to expect two teams to come from the US.’s smallest state. As undercover detectives I’m sure they’ll be excellent in finding out what destination they need to get to, so that’s a plus. Other than that, we’ll see.

Monique/Shawne – They are African-American women who are moms and attorneys from different states, but went to college together. They look like they’re very independent and intelligent women, so that’s a plus for me. It’s finally nice to see another independent mom team again.

Steve & Allison – This duo are father & daughter from Encinitas, California. Steve is a baseball coach of the Cleveland Indians, who was also the winning coach of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008. Alison, who also goes by Allie seems to be a Phil fan, since she wants to trade places with him. Don’t worry, don’t we all want to travel the world in a Reality Show and get paid for it?

There’s the next eleven teams of Racers. I’ll be blogging about them after Feb. 14th.

AI9 – Auditions: Orlando, FL

Posted in American Idol 9 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog, Idol on January 21st, 2010 by Dan

The fourth episode of American Idol 9 was the Orlando, FL Auditions. Orlando is home of Disney and where dreams come true. The special guest for this audition was Kristin Chenoweth, a Broadway singer and actress who is now a star of hit show, Glee. So let’s start with the auditions, in which is was better than Chicago, but just as short, since it was an hour long program.

Theo Glinton – This guy was the first to audition, and he’s seen wearing a horrifying and embarrassing cape with glitter all over his face. When Simon asks him where he sees himself in ten years, this guy begins talking about opening up salons, which has nothing to do with a music career. When he started screaming, he sang very loud and was actually screaming a whole lot. Kara says he was over the top and Randy tells him to lose the cape. He was rejected by the judges.

Seth Rollins – This guy is a father who’s oldest son is diagnosed with Autism. When he sang a Frank Sinatra song, it to me sounded very R&B like. The judges, or one of the judges, I forgot who say he was just a bit bland. Simon and Kristin say he picked a good, original song. With four votes to yes, he goes to Hollywood.

Jermaine Purifoy – This guy auditioned for Season seven, and when he sang, he sang good, having a nice voice. Kristin says he was pure and Rnady says he was the best audition so far. He gets put through to Hollywood with four votes to yes.

Shelby Dressel – She’s a waitress who just graduated high school. She started singing very good, and when she choked, she ended up cursing doing so. The judges say she needs to work on being nervous and all four of the judges put her through to Hollywood anyways.

As of day one, there were eighteen successful hopefuls who will be going to Hollywood. For day two of the auditions, Kristin Chenoweth has left due to her busy schedule in New York.

Jay Stone – This guy was a major disappointment and irritation when she goes into the room, and doesn’t sing, he makes beats with his mouth covered by his hands with no real English words whatsoever. I think Kara was dumb for saying yes to this guy, and Randy was just as dumb being his second vote through to Hollywood. Only Simon realized this is a singing competition, not a mouth-covered-by-hands beat competition, or whatever it’s really called.

Cornelius Edwards – A guy who starts singing, and singing not so good, I may add, began acting like a joke when he does a split. His pants end up getting ripped. It appears the judges were taking entertainment into consideration rather than singing once again, since he gets three votes to Hollywood. So, that makes two entertainers who aren’t really potential artists going to Hollywood this episode.

Bernadette & Amanda Desimond – Sisters who have a salon in their house, just like the other girl from Chicago. They both take turns singing, and I felt that on girl, I believe Bernadette sang better than her sister Amanda. Simon says yes to Bernadette and no to Amanda, but Kara and Randy already said yes to both of them, so they’re both going to Hollywood.

Jarrod Norrell – To me, this guys sang Amazing grace like a swarm of angry and busy bees. Kara says he sounds like a lawn mower and asks Jarrod if he really thinks he can really sing. He refused to leave the audition room, and began singing Amazing Grace again. The security intervened and carried this guy out of the whole area.

Matt Lawrence – This guy is a guy who at the age of fifteen robbed a bank with a Bebe gun. This guy says that American Idol could be his way of redemption. He sing as song called Trouble (ironic?). To me he sounded okay, basically because Country is how we sounded and that’s not where my taste in music goes. However, Simon says he was brilliant, sounding like he wrote the song himself and says he was authentic. He makes it through to Hollywood with four votes yes.

A total of 31 auditioners made it through to Hollywood. Out of four audition episodes right now, there’s been an even total of 100 successful hopefuls making it through to Hollywood.

I thought the auditions were okay, with more than what we saw from Chicago, I just don’t think there’s a stand out. Two of the successful hopefuls deferentially did not deserve to go to Hollywood. My favorite this episode was either Bernadette Desimond, Jermaine Purifoy, or Seth Rollins equally, but I still feel I’m keeping the same top five best auditioners. Here is a LLNMD List of Chicago & Orlando auditioners.

Love: John Park

Like: Katelyn Epperly, Angela Martin, Paige D., Seth Rollins, Jermaine Purifoy, Bernadette Desimond

Neutral: Charity Vance, Shelby Dressel

Meh: Amanda Desimond, Matt Lawrence

Dislike: Jay Stone, Cornelius Edwards

Survivor US 10 Palau’s Jenn Lyon Passed Away

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog, Reality TV News, Survivor on January 20th, 2010 by Dan

This is a news story about one of the Survivors of Survivor USA, I am just posting the news to  you guys. This is also my 100th post here on the blog, and it’s going to be about  Jenn Lyon, the fourth place contestant on Survivor: Palau (season 10) who has lost her batle with Cancer and passed away yesterday. This is indeed sad, and I feel sorry for all the survivors she got close to, her friends and family, and Austin Carty (Survivor: Panama) who was her boyfriend. I’m not sure if they were together before she died, but they were together during her time having a cancer battle.

Out of 301 Survivors we had seen on Survivor US, Jenn is the first American Survivor to pass away. She died at the age of 37, which coincidentally, Day 37 was the day she was voted off Survivor 10: Palau. I’m sure a lot of Survivor fans are upset, as we would’ve been upset at any of the others dying as well. I remember Jenn as one of the sweetest Survivors, as she was extremely well liked by a lot of the people in her Koror tribe. She was especially close to Gregg Carey. I remember her boldest strategy was to first get either Tom or Ian out, in which at the final six, it was Her, Gregg, and Caryn on board to vote for I believe Tom, but Katie wasn’t interested in flipping her vote. At final four, Jenn got Tom, who was being targeted by Ian to team up to vote Ian, which was Jenn’s best shot to survive against The Tom/Ian/Katie alliance. Jenn was in a tie with Ian in which she lost.

Since then, I believe Jenn has dated Austin Carty, from Survivor:Panama as I said before, and she has been battling cancer most of her post-survivor time. Again, this is a very sad thing to hear. Here is a link to a Reality Blurred article about her passing away, along with a video I found on you tube via the article in loving memory of Jenn’s experience on Survivor, as it features very sad music to go along with it.

AI9 Auditions: Chicago, IL

Posted in American Idol 9 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog, Idol on January 20th, 2010 by Dan

American Idol’s third pit stop home of the Windy City, deep dish pizza and Barack Obama, and Abraham Lincoln. The episode starts off with rejects cursing at the cameras and some heavy-set, African-African woman mistaking American Idol  for America’s Next Top Model. The next guest judge is Canadian country artist Shania Twain, famous for her song Forever and for Always.

Katelyn Epperly- A 19 year old girl with Family Problems, as her dad left her mother. When she started singing, she was very good. Shania says she sounds unique, not like Duffy, the singer she sang from. She got four yes’s, and is through to Hollywood.

Amy Lang – A girl who is in broadway and has a huge, but awkward crush on Ryan Seacrest. When her audition began, she falls to the ground and when she gets back up, she starts singing and pops her boobs out. Shania and Kara alled it “boob-boxing”. However, Simon says she wasn’t serious, and all the judges say no.

Charity Vance – A girl who is sixteen who’s parents own a salon in their Arkansas home. Randy says she has a small but interesting voice. Simon says she was very good, and with four yes’s, she was through to Hollywood.

Angela Martin – A former top 50 contestant of AI who held AI over off over a traffic warrant. One judge says she picked a very good song, and Kara says she’s good at listening to other people’s criticism. With four yes’s, she makes it back to Hollywood.

Curley Newburn – A guy who sand very slow and pitchy. The judges were chuckling the whole time, saying he’s got a very high voice. He was rejected.

Brian Krause – A guy from Pittsburgh who got fired from something involving the military. Simon thought he was a joke, when he sang, as he was top-toeing. To me, he was the worst, and that’s sad to say, since he’s from Pittsburgh, the town I’m moving to.

Herald Davis – To me, this guy sounded meh. However, the judges say he was clearly not right for the show. After being rejected, he began crying an sobbing, as a plea to get redemption. It didn’t work, he was and remained rejected.

John Park – He is an Asian-American guy who sang very excellent and had a good-sounding deep, but flowing voice. Shania says he had a very nice tone, and lips, and was surprised by him. John was given four yes’s, and was actually the first audition-er on Day 2 to make it to Hollywood.

Paige - An asthma attack victim who, to me, sang very strong and flowing with her voice. Randy says she has pitch problems. Kara and Shania say they’re unsure about her chances among the others, but they vote yes to her anyways, as Simon says no to her. It was up to Randy who ends up saying yes, and she goes to Hollywood.

A total of thirteen auditions from American Idol in Chicago were successful. That is 18 less than in the first city, Boston. Overall, I feel that Chicago was very weak. Only one guy stands out t0 me, and that is John Park. Angels would be second best to me, and Katelyn Epperly, Charity Vance, and Paige are about equally neutral. The other eight didn’t get introduced to us. My thinking is that the ones who got introduced to us are the ones who make it further in the running.

My Top 5 auditioners of three episodes:

5. Keia Johnson (Atlanta)

4. Maddy Curtis (Boston)

3. Leah Laurenti (Boston)

2. John Park (Chicago)

1. Jermaine Sellers (Atlanta)

American Idol 9 – Auditions: Altanta, GA

Posted in American Idol 9 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog, Idol on January 14th, 2010 by Dan

American Idol’s next Stop was Atlanta, Georgia, home of the peach state and this time, the special guest Judge was iconic R&B artist Mary J. Blige. I don’t want to post the you-tube videos because I want to save time for myself. So, let’s start with these Atlanta Auditions.

Dewone Robinson – This guy sang an original song called “Lady, we’re not together anymore”. Simon says it was one of the worst original songs we ever heard. To me, he sounded very annoying. As he argues with the judges, he refuses to leave, trying to sing more, but the judges just tell him goodbye.

Keia Johnson – She is a beauty queen who won the title of Miss. Congeniality. She sang a song from the movie Titanic. She appeared to be nice, as Mary J. Blige claims she can sing very well. Simon likes her, which means something to Keia. She is put through to Hollywood.

Jermaine – This guys is a church vocalist who cares for his sick mother. To me, he was very excellent singing “What If God was one of us?”. Kara says it was very good, as Randy calls him the real deal. He was very soulful, and could make for a very good Gospel Soul singer.

Kristy Marie – This woman is a TV Show and Producer to a local show called Georgia 411. I thought she sang with a bit of passion, but Kara and Simon say it won’t work out. At least she’s a host. Simon actually says her show should be called the 911 (U.S. emergency number).

Vanessa Wolfe – Next we see a small town girl Tennessee girl who jumps off on bridges into water (a small distance between, though) as a hobby. I personally say she is okay, because her accent is very thick. Kara says she’s authentic, and Simon says she could work on being more self-confident. However, she is accepted into Hollywood.

Jesse – This is a guy who had a very low, soft voice when speaking, and of course, it was heavily southern. It probably took him about five minutes to ctually start singing, he was indeed nervous and extremely shy. He was not very good, and the judges rejected him. Simon says he should keep his welding job.

Holly Harden – This girl calls herself a Human Guitar, simply because she dresses like a guitar, calling herself Guitar Girl. She sang decent, for a country singer, in my opinion. The judges didn’t go for the guitar outfit, but Holly says it’ll be no problem losing the outfit at Hollywood. While Randy and Kara say yes to her, Mary says no, leaving it up to Simon, who end up saying yes.

Mallory – This girl sang, and Kara commented to Mallory that Mallory knows who she is. Simon calls her fearless. Randy says to Mallory she’s very beautiful, and Mallory is put through to Hollywood.

Antonio Wheeler – This is a guy who goes by the name “Skii Bo Ski”. To me, he sounded pitchy. He ends up comparing himself to something worth a dollar anda dollar store, which to me, is very bad, and is a complete turn off. Simon says he’s horrible, and won’t say yes to him. Kara and Mary say he has a good voice, so they say yes to him. Randy, the deciding vote says yes, and he is through to Hollywood.

Carmen Turner & Lauren Sanders – These guys are friends from 3rd grade, and they are best friends, or BFF’s. I thought Carmen was good, but Lauren was deferentially not as good as Carmen. Simon says they make a hysterical comedy duo, but says no to their singing audition. However, Randy, Kara, and Mary say yes to Carmen, but no to Lauren, so Carmen goes to Hollywood without her BFF.

Bryan Walker – This guy is a police officer of his home town. To me, he sounded okay at the start, and maybe got better. Kara says he was great, and Rany says he sounds different in singing than he looks. He is acceptesd through to Hollywood.

Lamar Royal – This guy is a Mary J. Blige fan, eager to ding in front of her. He claims he can take constructive criticism well (just wait, you’ll see). When he sings, Randy and Kara didn’t like him. They claim he’s not a good listener, or good at taking the criticism when Lamar continues to sing. As he continued to sing horribly he gets security to remove him from the audition room. He begins cursing up a huge bitter storm, dissing Kara and dissing Mary J. Blige, someone he says is an idol.

Larry – This guy was clearly the best of the worst. He’s a 62 year old guy who sings his own original, satirical, catchy song called “Pant’s on the Ground”, with a memorable line going as: “You look liek a fool, with your pants on the ground. He had the judges laughing. However, when Larry tells Simon his age, 62, Simon says he’s a little over the age limit, 28. I swear, he would’ve made it to Hollywood if he was 28 or under.

Jermaine was really the best standout in this audition episode, probably because the other successful auditioners were mostly country or R&B-type. Keia would be my second favorite. Here is my LLNMD list of the Successful Auditioners I saw of the week, including the ones from Atlanta and Boston. The Boston people are more at the top, where there is one at dislike, the worth-a-buck Skii Bo Ski guy.

Love: Maddy Curtis, Leah Laurenti, Keia Johnson, Jermaine

Like: Amadeo, Ashley Rodrigez, Mike Davis, Katie Stevens, Justin Williams

Neutral: Bosa Mora, Holly Harden, Mallory, Carmen Turner, Bryan Walker

Meh: Tyler Grady, Joshua Blaylock, Vanessa Wolfe

Dislike: Antonio “Skii Bo Ski” Wheeler

American Idol 9 Auditions: Boston, MA

Posted in American Idol 9 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog, Idol on January 13th, 2010 by Dan

American Idol premiered last night, and while I watching the show, I jogged down some notes to help me make a blog, instead of blogging/watching AI at the same time. So, the first stop for the Auditions was Boston, Massachusetts, home of Yankee Haters and the Revolutionary War, in which, yes, the judges ended up talking about the Revolutionary War in the middle of the show. They introduced the first special guest judge, Victoria Beckham, aka Posh from the Spice Girls. In Boston, it was raining, so all of the people in line at the auditions were carrying umbrellas, and in the background, the song Boston by Augustana was playing.Below is a list of a name and a personal description of the auditioner, my critique, the judges’ critique, and whether or not they werethrough or rejected in the audition. I tried to search for videos of these guys, mainly the people who’s first and last name I caught.

Janet McNamara- She was the first audition of Boston, who is an addict of the Idol video game she claims she mastered, in which she’s auditioning for the show because she believes since she mastered the video game, she can master a real American Idol audition. When she got into the room, and when she sang, she sand Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Beddingfield, the judges didn’t like her real audition. Janet was rejected, hoping she learns a valuable lesson, video games are not meant to be mocked into a real-life situation. It was Game Over for Janet, but hey, at least she isn’t copying any Rated Mature games. Her audition is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtfN1VcKmBA&feature=related

Maddy Curtis- Maddy is the 8th or 9th of 12 kids. Her younger biological brother has down syndrome, and her parents ended up adopting two or three more kids with down syndrome, as they felt as a family it was their need to rach out. Maddy sings Halleleujah by an artist I don’t remember. I personally thought she looks mature and acts mature for a sixteen year old. She even sang more mature than a sixteen year old. Kara says she sounded soulful and authentic. Simon kind of agrees with me on Maddy’s maturity level, saying she’s not as anoying as most sixteen year old who audition. Her audition is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTvLYdNwo3I

Pat Ford- This guy is a teen from Derry New Hampshire who obsesses over the word “Holla”. He sang Womanizer by Brittany Spears, the way wrong song for a seventeen year old guy to be singing. I thought he was too jumpy/energitic, and I he’s probably gay. Pat ends up calling Simon Sassy, and as he was rejected, he got to hug Kara. I hope he’s homeschooled, or hope jocks don’t watch AI, because not only did he embarrass New Hampshire, my ditrth state, he embarrassed himself. Here’s his audition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZJLiGlM4ac

Amadeo- This guy is an Italian guy who’s a family guy. When he sang, I don’t remember the song, he was Simon’s favorite of the day so far and Posh says he was energetic. Kara and Randy feel Amadeo is real, like a brother. To me, he sang very deep, but decent. He was I believe the first male to be given a ticket to Hollywood of the auditions. Here is his audition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb9wlxggvE0&feature=related

Derec Ervin- He’s a spiritual guy who likes to listen to music when depressed. I personallt thought he was borderline hippy until he began comparing himself to Chris Brown, which gave me an awkward feeling because this guy and Chris Brown are completely different in like every way. When he began singing, I thought he sounded like something totally all wrong. My sister, who watched the show with me, says he counds like a duck. Simon says he’s No Chris Brown, and obviously doesn’t sound like the Eagles (band), but maybe an eagle (bird). Here’s his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnFUk4z2UH0&feature=related

Mere Doyle- This girl is an anime geek obsessed with Japanese culture. I thought she sang very loud, but had some energy to her. When Simon says she was terrible, she began defending herself. She got rejected and sulks about her 14 years of singing training and experience are crashed by the judges. She was the second nerd type person, maybe third if Pat counts, to be rejected. Here’s her video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYeuNmUikhM&feature=related

Next, we see just a few seconds of two guys, Luke Shaffer and Benjamin Wright singing and both of those guys wrre success in their audition, making it through to Hollywood. Before the next segmented audition, we were given a flashback of Kara’s feud with Bikini Girl of last year’s audtitions.

Andrew Fenlon- This is the guy who was very rudely impatient, and whiny about the fact the audition process was taking him three hours to get himself through. He’s probably the only rejected auditioner to throw a fit, and probably the only auditioner to throw a fit before he’s vene in the room, before getting  rejected. Andrew was extremely rude to the judges, and ignorantly answered Simon’s questions. He was deferentially a dude who’s probably angry at the world, and his big glasses were irritating and intimidating to me. When he sang, he. sang. like. this. A. robot. Kara asks Andrew is he’s angry, and Kara gives Andrew a piece of her mind, stating she doesn’t like him after he’s a complete jerk over waiting three hours for his break when Kara explains people wait years to get their break. Andrew and Kara continued to get into their fighting until this rejeced ausitioner was finally out of our site. Whatc his video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1Q1QyzYu64&feature=related

Ashley Rodrigez- She’s a college student. In her audition, she sang an Alicia Keys song. Kara liked her. Simon thinks she has it. All four of them do say yes to her. I liked her too, she sounded like a true R&B singer, similar to Alicia Keys. Here’s her video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cl1_zHm2hg

Tyler Grady-This guy is a band drummer who formerly fell out of a tree and has metal plates in his arms he broke. Kara adroes him, calling him fantastic, same for Posh. Simon says he’s an auditioner he’ll remember. To me, he seems like a young rocker guy who teenage girls will have crushes on, but he was decent. He’s also going through to Hollywood. Here’s his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQUdNSHs95Y

Lisa-Next is a girl named Lisa who’s a waitress. She has a huge passion for singing and music, but has never recieved training. Lisa claims she’s better than half the people on the show. She sang Vision of Love by Mariah Carey. She was rejected, as the judges say she was no good. I won’t be able to find a video of her, since I don’t remember her last name anddidn’t see her listed on related videos either.

Mike Davis-This guy works on a boat. To me, he sang very excellent. However, to my surrpise Randy says no, but Simon say yes. So, it was up to the lady judges, Posh and Kara to decide. We end up seeing Ryan talking to Mike’s family until Mike comes out, with a golden ticket, confirming his spot in Hollywood. Here is his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XxW9RM2xb8

Katie Stevens-She is a 16-year-old girl who’s Portugese and very close to her grandmother, who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Katie also takes care of her grandmother as well. She san gvery excellent, and sang just as good as Maddy. The judges loved her too, and she was through to Hollywood. Here is her video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDzA0tmUESI

Joshua Blaylock-He started singing and sang okay to me. Posh says he was playing it very safe, which is a killer once you’re pass auditions. Simon says no to him, sayign he sounds lke a fourteen year old. Hoever, when Kara and Posh say yes, sayign he can change, Simon changes his mind to yes, and Randy says yes, and he’s put through to Hollywood. Here he is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW5BuFzeZuY

Justin Williams-A Cancer survivor diagnosed while on a mission in Spain. He, to me, sang very good and inspirational to me. All of the judges put him through to Hollywood. The video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDeEvFKT644

Norberto-A rocker with Cyndi Lauper style hair, it seemed to me. His singing was very screechy and pitchy. Also, he got extremely nervous. Smon says he looks like a three year old dressed like Latoya Jackson. He was rejected. I do not remember this guy’s last name, so I have no video.

Bosa Mora-A guy with Nigerian Parents. He actually sounded very decent. Simon says he was good, but boring. Posh and Kara disagreed with Simon. However, Randy, Posh, and Kara put him through to Hollywood anyways. Here is his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAyDp4JL88Y

Leah Laurenti-She was the last audition shows, who grew up in a strict home. She claims she can be a singer, but has put it off. She sang very good, with lots of emotion. She reminds me of an Americnan version of Leona Lewis. Randy says she was one of the best, and with four yeses, she was sent to Hollywood. Despite she was one of the best, I couldn’t find her video, since I’m probably spelling her last name worng, but I’m still sure she has a video, however.

A total of 31 Boston auditions were successful in this audition city. Overall, the people of Boston who got rejected we’re thorwing outrageous bursts of foul language, bitterness, and immature sore loss. I believe the only bitter ones, but not over-the-top extreme were Mere Doyle and Andrew Fenlon. Tonight, the judges are headed to Atlanta, so tommorow, expect to see more auditioners.

American Idol starts today as X Factor could come to the U.S. in Fall, 2011

Posted in American Idol 9 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog, Idol, X Factor (The), X Factor 1 USA on January 12th, 2010 by Dan

American Idol will start today, and I’ll be blogging the auditions. That Blog could start after the show ends, 10:00PM EST. I will try to blog the AI9 shows soon after or during the show just because it’ll take some memory of the auditions/perormances and judges critique. One of the big things that just got blurred out is that Simon is officially leaving American Idol for good. Yes, this has been what I call an “annual rumor” where this rumor comes around every year. Unlike what years past have been according to this, there is a “Huge Factor” playing a part of Simon leaving Idol after this year. The “Factor” is X Factor. News sources say that Simon is leaving a judging spot on American Idol 10, and is going to start X Factor here. Simon Cowell plans on launching his now world-wide project to the U.S. in the Fall of 2011.

The biggest speculation I have for this not happening until approx. 19 months from now is because while he’s leaving American Idol, he still needs to figure out that to do with all his shows. His Judging Credits would be American Idol, (already abandoning), Britain’s Got Talent, X Factor UK, and now X Factor US, along with the show he is involved with, America’s Got Talent. I believe he is the creator of Got Talent, and won’t end it anytime soon. I believe Simon will want to juggle these shows around a bit. Since  X Factor UK is a Fall show, along with what X Factor US is planned to be, it looks like Got Talent is his early in the year show, and X Factor is going to be in later in the year show. So, if this is the case, I hope Simon loves the fact he’ll be hopping continents two-thirds of a calendar. If I were him, I be a Reality Star is the Spring (Judge X Factor UK & move to the spring, Britain’s Got Talent for the spring) and be an American Reality star in the fall (America’s Got Talent in the summer, X factor for the fall)

Right now, here’s what I do know what’s in store for the first season of X Factor US. The Network that is planning to broadcast X Factor is NBC. I know NBC has been a Network that likes to take it’s most popular shows, which just happen to be Reality Shows (The Apprentice, The Biggest Loser) and make them into two hour programs every episode. The biggest problem with this is the show’s a long, dreary, and the scenes are over extended. This is why I end up not finishing watching the Biggest Loser and didn’t tune into Celebrity Apprentice, because they made that show two hours as well. If NBC  has high hopes for this, they’ll probably pass up airing four hour-long comedies for the 2011-2012 year and just start airing X Factor for two hours. I don’t think a performance show will be as bad, since a son perfrmance can only last so long. I just hope and pray that the results shows are NOT two hours long. They’re horrible and dragged out as an hour long from American Idol, I can’t imagine anyone sitting down and waiting two hours to see who’s geting eliminated. I truely and logically expect that the performance shows will be two hours long and the results will be an hour long.

The things that will likely happen are things that I believe is the exact same thing  X Factor UK currently does. The signature things that will make this show not look like American Idol are elements such as the auditions will be Live. That’s an interesting concept, because what I sespect to see if a pre-audition audition, not live, so weed out the ones who are only auditioning just to say they’ve appeared on television, and plow out the ones who won’t be worthy of doing a live audition show. What I hope to see from X Factor auditions is people who have a shot, not just a hope. 90% of American Idol auditioners are illogical dreamers, so I hope to see people who either nail the audition, become a heated debate between the judges as to give then or not give them a ticket, or just have potential to become a star, but need to evolve in their stardom before getting an invitation to furthur their singing career. Please leave the heart broken, bitter egos who think they have talent to American Idol.

Simon Cowell will likely use the same format for the competition, which means American votes to save their favorite and the bottom two are up for elimination. The next thing on the list is finding at least three more people to bewilling to be judges for X Factor. Right now, it’s just Simon Cowell, I have no information as to who the second, third, and fourth, maybe a fifth judge is. I believe I have three logic answers that I strongly feel could end up being judges for this, all of them have judging experience. I’m talking about David Hassellhoff, as I would bet any atricle of clothing on my back he’s going to be asked to do this. David Hassellhoff was a judge for America’s got talent but he left America’s Got Talent as Simon Cowell is probably finding judges. Another person I’d bet clothes on would be Paula Abdul. She left American Idol before the judging of American Idol’s upcoming season. So Basically, what I’m saying right now is One Show’s old judge is a new show’s new judge. I believe there will be singing groups, men, and women, but I’m not sure about the fourth category, since it’s likely they’ll open auditions for people not older than 26-28, there’s for room to do a category for teens, ages 14-17, since Cowell is considering opening auditions to people as young as 14. Maybe the senior cateogory will be people 24-28. In that case, we may have five judges, five categories, and no odds of a tiebreaker for the bottom two when the judges vote. I’m curious as to who would take being a mentor for the groups; hopefully it’s someone who’s music career is with a group. I’d personally nominate Gene Simmons, who has worked with Reality-Singing. Gene did a show featuring kids becoming rockers, so I wouldn’t be surprise if he did a the teen category, if there was to be one. When it comes to a group singer mentor, the first person to come to my mind is Nicole Scherzinger, the lead Doll of the Pussycat dolls. She had her shows featuring her group and a show called Girlicious.

So, as of now, My Judge Predictions and Who’d they mentor stand as:

Simon Cowell-Over 24-25

Paula Abdul-Women

David Hasselhoff-Men

Nicole Scherzinger-Groups

Gene Simmons-Teens (If there’s a fifth judge & a teen category)

Survivor Heroes & Villains Announced

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog, Survivor, Survivor 20 USA on January 8th, 2010 by Dan

The 20th Season of Survivor has announced it’s cast. Yes, we still have a little over one month to go before it actually begins, but We have known that these guys as Heroes and Villains months ago, when this season was filming. I will reveal the cast in alphabetic order, revealing their tribe, and say a few words about their previous gameplay. Here we go, the Heroes and the Villains of Survivor.

AMANDA – Hero: Amanda started off in Survivor 15 China, and was invited back to play in Survivor 16: FVF. Amanda made it to the day 39 finals both times. Will she do this again? She was also the first female to claim a Hidden Immunity Idol, in which she played it the day she found it. I believe she was the first to do that as well. In Survivor China, her biggest move was blindsiding James, a guy who was in possession of two hidden immunity idols he didn’t play. Amanda’s former players include Cirie, James, Parvati, and Courtney.

CANDICE – Hero: Candice was famous for being the Cook Islands mutineer, along with Jonathan. I’m curious to know if Candice’s tribal/alliance loyalty will be a question for the other Survivors. Candice had a lot of potential to win Cook Islands, in the event Jonathan never flipped alliances to boot Nate, then Candice. Candace’s former allies were (ironically) four of the five Caucasion Survivors in that season. Her ties to former players include one person, Parvati.

CIRIE – Hero: Cirie, is my all time favorite Survivor player, and was my favorite in both Panama & Micrnesia. This still doesn’t mean she’ll be my favorite this time. Cirie was not exactly remembered for her dominating in competitons, but was rarely ever a target for beign weak, and holds two strong placings, making final four then final three. Cirie has twice gone from swing vote to almost controlling the game. Cirie has ties with Danielle, Amanda, Parvati, James, which is four players.

COACH – Villain: It’s interesting to see Coach return, mainly because I want to see if he tries a different stragegy, or simply becomes an insane BSer like he was in Tocantins. My guess is that he’ll unfortunately bring a combo of the two possibilities out. He has ties to JT and Tyson, two players, but It will be up to whatever the other nineteen think of him that’s probably going to end up determining his fate, since he’s so note worthy for his game play and  behavior.

COLBY – Hero: Colby, alongwith Jerri, is the oldest player. When I mean “oldest player” I mean him and Jerri played this game, before anyone else did. It’s going to be interesting to square off against Jerri, because Colby took Jerri out in Outback, and Jerri took Colby out in All-Stars. Colby is an extreme dominator in challenges, along with lots of others here. He has ties with 1 player, from All Stars and Outback, Jerri, and was in the same season as Rupert, and Rob. However, in All Stars, he was booted before a merge, so he technically didn’t play the game with Rob or Rupert.

COURTNEY – Villains: Courtney was from Survivor: China, who placed second. Her previous ties are with fellow day 29 loser, Amanda. Courtney was weak in most challenges, but was on a strong tribe, but ironically, did win immunity one time. What I truely find awkward is that in her bio, she ays all the “strong” players are her least players, as they’re all smug. So, in the event  they actually do boot the strongest players first, she’s on board with that plan. Oh, and Courtney is way hotter now than she was in China.

DANIELLE – Villains: Danielle is from Panama, and placed second. She has ties to one player, Cirie. In Panama, she turned on people like Courtney, Cirie, Terry, and Shane so she could get furthur in the game. This is actuallywhat got her, like two votes in the final two. That’s why she’s here, as a villain. She has won immunity, and actually won the final immunity in which she beat out the immunity domintor Terry, whom as a player, she says she least respects.

JAMES – Heroes: James is from China & Micronesia, where he got blindsides with two idols and got medical evacuated. James is usually good in challenges, but doesn’t end up winning immunity individually. He has ties to players llike Cirie, Amanda, Parvati, and Courtney, that’s four players. S, it seems like the FVF players have ties with three of their own, and one from their debut season so far.

JERRI – Villains: Jerri was the first contoversial female player, who was  extremely hated. She was booed at the ruenion for sayng delusional, sore-losar stuff about Survivor, making fans upset as she cried about it on America’s Tribal Council. I reallyhope that Colby is the one who takes Jerri out. I totally didn’t ccare at first, ntil I saw she “disrespects” the game play of the Amazing Shii Ann, who was my favorite before Cirie. So, I hope Colby gets Jerri out, in the event the Heroes-Villains switch up. Since Jerri was booted before the merge, she didn’t get to play the game with Rob, but has played with Rupert and Colby, she has ties to two players.

JT – Heroes: JT won Tocantins, and in Season eight we saw the winners play, but none made the merge, so it will be very confusing to guess how winners will handle this All Star season. He has two former players as ties, Coach and Tyson, whom he both betrayed. JT is very good at competitions. As a matter of fact, the only concern I do have from JT is his winner title holding. That and I don’t think everyone will fall for his charm like they did in Tocantins.

PARVATI – Villain: Parvati played Cook Islands, and returned for FVF where she won. Parvati can be the homegirl, the pot-stiirring witch, and the flirt at the same time. She has ties to Candice, Cirie, Amanda, and James, all of which she was allies with at one point. Parvati is a winner, and she is decent in competitions.

RANDY – Villain: Randy is probably the meanest Survivor we have had on the show, he’s bitter, he’s angry, he’s abully. He, in my opinion makes Russell look like someone as nice as Tina, or Ethan. He probably agreed to do this show to see which Gabon Survivor he could bully, pick off. In that case, Sugar better watch out. He hated his tribe in Gabon, and hated the players who took over, we’ll see if he hates his own specie, the villains. Randy is good at challenges also.

ROB – Villain: Rob was the villain in All Stars, not to mention he’s particpated on TAR twice with his wife, former Survivor, Amber. The main reason I disliked him and Amber for a few years was because he took out Lex, Kathy, and Shii Ann, who were my All Star favorites, after lying to them. I know it’s a part of the game, but I was 21 when All Star happened. He is also a dominator in competitions, and has ties to Rupert, and while Jerri/Colby were in All Stars, but didn’t end up on a tribe with them.

RUPERT – Hero: Rupert was  like the most popular Survivor ever, winning $1,000,000 at America’s Tribal Council recieving like 85% of the votes. I never understood the Rupert obsession, since it’s probably because he was a rival of Jonny Fairplay, who is our most hated Survivor. Rupert has ties to three previous players, Rob, Jerri and Sandra, and while in All Stars, he didn’t play with Colby.

RUSSELL – Villain: Russell is arrogant, and we all sawe how well the most arrogant player Richard Hatch got him, so we’ll see. He’s probably like so upset he lost, if at this time, he knew the results, or something. I wouldn’t expect to see him try som of his old tricks, such as being a firefighter, or a Katrina victim, or finding idols with no clues. He has no ties with none of these players, and these players are no aware of Russell even being on the planet. This is due to this season being filmed right after Survivor: Samoa.

SANDRA – Villain: Sandra was the winner of Survivor: Pearl Islands, and was our first Hispanic Survivor and winner. She has close ties to one person, Rupert, who was anallie to her. The thing about Sandra is that she  is probably the poorest in challenges, and being a former winner, could also hurt her too. However, in the event they end up atrgeting stronger players, Sandra wouldn’t have much o worry about.

STEPHENIE – Hero: Stephenie was the last person on her Ulong tribe, and returned for the 11th season where she backstabbed a lot of the players, only to lose in final two. I believe she is very good at competitions, and is the one third-timer to not play either AS or FVF. She has ties to one person, Tom, from Palau and no ties from a Guatemala player.

SUGAR – Hero: Sugar was the pin-up girl, who was loathed by every single juror, as every single juror would’ve  never wrote her named down in a million years. I think Randy will be the one who tries to get her out, real fast, if they swap/merge together. She isn’t that good in competitions,so I don’t even see how she’ll be valuable to keep around.

TOM – Hero: Tom was probably the most dominating competitor in challenges, winning 5/7 and including rewards/tribe. He won Survivor: Palau, as well. Those are two ways Tom could be  voted off, if the tribe votes out their strongest threats or winning threats. He has ties to Styephenie from Palau, and that’s it.

TYSON – Villain: Tyson was kind of annoying in Tocantins, so I wonder if he’ll still be annoying, or different. I see him still being strong in competitions, and he has ties to Coach and JT. I don’t think he fits in a category ofr early target, because I have no clue who’s going to get target.

Those are the Villains and Heroes of this season. I’ll be blogging about the Survivor 10 year special and the Season in Februrary, when my one year of blogging for WoBB is official.

EDIT: Here is a cast photo:

Top-Left to Right: Coach, Courtney, Amanda, Rob, Cirie, Rupert, Stephenie, Colby, Tyson, Sugar, JT, Danielle, Sandra

Bottom Left-Right: James, Parvati, Russell, Candice, Tom, Jerri, Randy

Dan’s Top 10 Reality Stars of 2009

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog on January 1st, 2010 by Dan

I came up with the idea to do this just now, so here I go. I figured it’s new years, and everyone usually does some type of countdown, I figured why not do one myself, as this is my first year blogging for WOBB. Here are the  top ten of my favorite reality shows of 2009, which includes the American shows from Survivor: Tocantins, The Amazing Race 14, American Idol 8 (OK, didn’t blog for it, but I still watched it) I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2, Big Brother 11, Survivor: Samoa, & The Amazing Race 15. So, here we go, the top ten favorite reality stars from this year.

10. Spencer & Heidi (I’m A Celebrity 2) – They were the most entertaining, intimidating people in I’m A Celebrity, it was clearly them being themselves, which is over dramatic, spoiled, but made very bad impressons as newly saved Christians. They became the reason I would watch this show, and when they quit, for like the third time, which I was disappointed about, I thought I’m A celebrity was going  to be going downhill.

9. Natalie White (Survivor: Samoa) – Natalie wasn’t my favorite in Survivor Samoa, but due to this season having a lack of favorites to literally choose from, she became second favorite. I kind of wanted her to win for a while after Laura was out, but didn’t think it was going to happen. I knew once Brett was out in final four, Natalie would win. I really respect Natalie as a game player; she played the way I would end up playing, except I would’ve got rid of the best players easier than her.

8. Katrina Darrell, aka “Bikini Girl” (American Idol auditions 8) – She had my cracking up, and a bit  love struck maybe when she showed up in her audition in a bikini, but seriously, we’ve has Statue of Liberties before, so a Bikini isn’t half as bad. She was over dramatic durign the Hollywood auditions and had a nice feud with Kara. I hope to see her in the next auditions on American Idol 9′s season premier, just because she was memorable and entertaining, and would’ve won, if she made it far, given it’s appeal that favored over talent in American Idol audience voting.

7. Russell Kairouz (Big Brother 11) – I didn’t like him in the beginning, simply because he was in Jessie’s alliance, but when he flipped alliances, he was a very cool guy, especially seeing him g oafter Chima, not to mention he fought with Michele and Jeff notably. He became my second favorite when I felt sorry for him when he was the victim of Kevin’s lie and Jeff believing it. If it weren’t for that, I believe Jeff would have this position.

6. Kris Allen (American Idol 8) – Kris Allen was pretty much my favorite from the beginning of the finals, simply because his music is so good, or was on American Idol, as I thought his songs were going to be  songs I really am into. His first single, Live like we’re dying, is okay, but I hope there are better songs coming up.

5. Jordan Lloyd (Big Brother 11) – Jordan was nice, and had a nice personality, and wasn’t as ditzy as I thought she’d be, which is good, but I still love diztyness. Jordan was an okay winner, and I liked how she would’ve been the only person to try to keep her clique together, and I think she was underestimated, which is why she got so far in Big Brother, and eventually won.

4. Laura Morett (Survivor: Samoa) – I always loved Laura, from the time she was on Survivor: Smoa, and she’s the lowest placing favorite of mine ever, at tenth place, but she was a good game player, and would’ve won if he didn’t have a tribe of Galu idiots (John, getting Erik out, voting for Russell I always took her side against Shambo, and really wish that she got a second chance, maybe all stars 3?

3. Brian & Ericka (The Amazing Race 15) – They were the nice team, in which the only thing I wish I saw was their nice behaviour and love for each each other land them a first place or two, then perhaps the win. They grew on the race, and that is what The Amazing Race is about. They were good at getting out of the back of the pack or avoiding eliminations. I loved to see them in the final three, and am glad they still had a good chance to win.I still love their message of love being colorblind, which is why I rooted for them.

2. Erinn Lobdell (Survivor: Tocantins) – I rooted for Erinn because my Tocantins pre show favorite, Candace was booted early, and Erinn was Candace’s ally, and Erinn turned out to be my favorite. She played the game in a situation similar to Shambo, but Erinn was charming, whereas Shambo was insane. Erinn was alienated by her tribe, mainly by the idiot Coach, which forced her to swap sides to Japalao and her way of playing the game almost got her second place, but JT didn’t take her to the final two. I will always remember Erinn saying “Who is this jackass?” referring to Coach’s insane behavior.

1. Tammy & Victor (The Amazing Race 14) – I rooted for Tammy and Victor in The Amazing Race 14 from the very beginning, and predicted they’d be the ones who’d dominate the race, which they ended up doing. I was really glad to see them win, but their win was pretty predictable, since I only had to worry about Margie/Luke. Their magnificent performance in The Amazing race, being one of the most top five dominating teams I’m sure, is the reason I’m placing them as number one on my countdown.

So, who do you guys think should be on your own top 10 reality star countdown? You could include people from the shows I’ve blogged about, or your country’s shows. Have a nice 2010, I’ll be back some time in January to blog American Idol. Before that, I’ll probably find another excuse to make another post about these shows.

Survivor – New Ranking of Winners & Seasons

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog, Survivor on December 21st, 2009 by Dan

This just in: Survivor is reporting they’ll be airing a 20-season, 10-year anniversiary special on Februrary 4, 2010. It’s a 2-hour long, 19-season rewind, reunion style show remembering all 291 Survivors, all the scandals, called “Surviving Survivor”. Last year, I figured they’d do a 20-season special spin-off, but I thought it’s be appropriate to do this on May 31, 2010, ten years after Survivor premiered. Anyways, here is the ranking of the winners and seasons including Natalie and Survivor: Samoa.

Winners:

1. Brian Hiedik -Thailand (Dominator in challenges and strategy, kept Chauy Gahn together, and almost got Shii Ann to flip sides)

2. Tina Wesson-Outback (Loyal to Kieth/Colby, and really likeable and respected, who was really humble/honorable by a lot of people in the game)

3. Richard Hatch-Borneo (Kept his allies, knew he had this game in control, and coud’ve made Survivor what it was today)

4. Yul Kwon-Cook Islands (Kept his allies together, was brilliant in getting strategy, and getting votes)

5. Tom Westman-Palau (Played dominant in strategy and challenges, but was playing a predictable season)

6. JT Thomas-Tocantins (Played the game very decietfullly, but made himself look like a complete saint)

7. Todd Herzog-China (Played the game very strategic, got threats out, which helped him win)

8. Aras Baskausaus-Panama (Led Casaya to dominate in challenges, and post merge, and led himself to victory)

9. Chris Daughtery-Vanuatu (Made his way through the woman’s allaince, and outlasted them all to win)

10. Danni Boatwright-Guatemala (Made her way through Stehp’s alliance, simliar to how Chris played)

11. Parvati Shallow-Micronesia (Played a decent soaial game, that eventually ended up having her win)

12. Earl Cole-Fiji (Made a good alliance that dominated, was loyal, then made the right move voting out Yau-Man)

13. Natalie White-Samoa (Played a good loyal, social game, and did call a couple of shots)

14. Ethan Zohn-Africa (Played a nice game, but was just cimply the nicest guy, and the nicest winner, only)

15. Bob Crowley-Gabon (Did win immunities to dave him, but Sugar carried him through, because she loved him)

16. Sandra Diaz-Twine (Didn’t call much shots, was mostly betrayed a lot, but beat out the betrayer)

17. Vacepia Towery-Marquesas (Didn’t do a whole lot, got lucky that Kathy/Neleh could help her advance)

18. Jenna Morasca-Amazon (Was clearly carried, was a whiner and a bully, and won over a bad jury)

19. Amber Brkich-All Stars (Was clearly carried, like all the way to the end, that’s all)

Seasons:

1. Panama (All the cool, wonderful and diverse people made it far, andeveryone was memorable)

2. Micronesia (A crazy season, with lots of blindsides that didn’t get too old yet, but FvF worked out)

3. Pearl Islands (A lot of likable people, tons of tribal turns, and at least a bad twist brought out some good)

4. Thailand (The season with a lot of memorable people, and a good tibe getting to the end, best winner, but I didn’t like that fake merge)

5. China (The season with a lot of memorable people, and good game play, and thebest theme with good challenges)

6. Outback (The season with a lot of delivering episodes, and most of the original game plays come from this season)

7. Gabon (The good people almost got to the end, but I thought Sugar made dumb, series-killer moves)

8. Africa (A good group of people, with an okay, ut messy outcome, but it was still okay watching Lex this season)

9. Samoa (Not bad for a cast of 20, and still good peoplegot to the end, and there was a lot of likable people)

10. Borneo (The original season, with the most interesting people so far, but showed a lack of game play and strategy from most people)

11. Vanuatu (This season was starting off predictable, voting the young ones off, but picked up when good players still got far)

12. Tocantins (This seasson had okay people going far, and Coach/Tyson were stil pretty bad)

13. Marquesas (Didn’t have a whole ot of likable people, but the game play was amazing for this season)

14. Guatemala (Had okay people, but Steph kind of took the wrong type of control, and killed a lot of this season, glad she lost, awful final four)

15. Palau (Had okay people, but this was the most predictable season ever, and it wasn’t very exciting, also had the worst twist ever)

16. Fiji (Everyone was either good, or forgotten, and this season had a series-killing twist that almost ended things)

17. Amazon (Not a fan of these guys, not much likablitity there, awful males vs. females twist)

18. All-Stars (Too predictable, and all the okay survivors were being controlled by Rob, but Amber won)

19. Cook Islands (The race twist was pointless, and the worst overrated twist ever, and almost everyone there I’ve forgotten about)

Survivor Samoa: The Finale – Natalie Wins

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog, Survivor, Survivor 19 USA on December 21st, 2009 by Dan

Day 37: Brett immune & Jaison Voted off (4-1)

This episode started off just like I’d expect it to: The four Foa-Foa members want to vote off Brett, and feel they can, and have the odds stacked up againts Brett. Then, Russell tells Natalie she’s going if Brett wins immunity, just to keep the stronger guys in to beat Brett. Natalie seemed disappointed, and says to Russell she wants to keep her loyalty to him. So, st this immunity challenge, the survivors had to go through a course to retrieve a bag of puzzle pieces and put the puzzle together. The first to finish the puzzle would win. It was close between Mick and Brett, and it ended up to be Brett who won, meaning a former Foa-Foa member would have to send someone home. Back at camp, Russell decides to target Jaison and Mick, instead of Natalie. Russell tells Mick and Jaison who to vote for, and at Tribal Council, it was Jaison who got the votes, and he was voted off.

Day 38: Russell Immune & Brett Voted Off  (3-1)

The Survivors woke up to do the rights of passage, where they remember the sixteen Survivors voted off or in this case, medically evacuated. This is usually nothing special, but they’ve done this in just about every season. Then, it became time to the final immunity challenge. In this challenge, the survivors had to balance a statue on a pole that gets bigger as they go for as long as possible. The last one standing would win. After a little while, it was Mick, following  shortly after that, Natalie, who let go, making the challenge between Russeell and Brett. It was Brett who fell, and Russell won immunity. At the camp, Russell wonders if he’d end up switching the vote, keeping a stronger ompetitior in the game, and get Mick, a weaker competitor out. So, at tribal council, it was Brett who voted for Mick, but the other three stuck together, and Brett was voted off. Natalie, Mick, and Russell have became the official final three of this season.

Day 39-Final Tribal Council: Natalie Wins, Russell takes Second, Mick takes third (7-2-0)

Natalie, Russell, and Mick head off to the final tribal council where these jurors disappoint me; they were lame in their questions. Jaison asked them who they were, and if they didn’t say who they were, he’d expose that for him. Shambo ripped Natalie and Mick, saying they were too horrible, and clearly stated she’s voting for Russell. Laura talks to Russell about making her leave, in which Rusell says to Laura she’d be up here, if she didn’t leave at that time. Brett’s question to Mick was creepy, he was talking about what they’d do on a “bro-date”, which probably had nothing to do with the game. I think about five or six of these jurors skipped out on asking all three jurors aquestion, they went to just one or two people. Erik was my favorite juror, who made a rather surprising plea. He says Natalie played the better game, as an honest, loyal person, where Russell was just cocky and arrogant the entire time. Erik clerly must have forgoten how Foa-Foa felt at tribal council when Russell S. was medically evacuated. So, in Los Angeles, the winner was revealed. Natalie was the winner with seven votes, recieving a vote from everyone except Shambo and John, who voted for Russell.

I think Natalie winning was a bit of a shock to me, I expected Natalie to just be underestinated by jurors, but apparently that was Mick who had that on him. Sometimes it’s always nice, but very ironic to see the “loyal one” win Survivor. You should’ve seen Russell at the finale/reunion, he was a lousy show off and a sore loser the entire time, and I think I’ve lost respect for him, until season twenty that is. Just like I reported earlier, there is a next season which will be called Heroes vs. Villains (I’m calling it Survivor HVV, for my blogs) that features the best nice players of honor and integrity, heroes play against the best decieptive, backstabbing villains. We’ll just have to see how this turns out, and see if this experiment was worth watching. I’m pretty sure most of my favourites there come from the heroes tribe, for sure. I’ve got one more post (my seasons & winners rankings) until I see you guys next year, as I will be blogging American Idol 9, Survivor: HVV, and The Amazing Race 16 this winter. Enjoy the new Survivor 20 logo.

Survivor Samoa: Brett immuned & Shambo Voted Off (5-1)

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog, Survivor, Survivor 19 USA on December 18th, 2009 by Dan

This Survivor episode started with Brett reciting Bible verses to Natalie, who was very impressed by this. Natalie says that she likes how her and Brett share being Christian in common. Brett, who is the last of Loyal Galu, says he knows they’ll all want him out because all of his former allies are in the jury, which is true. Russell tells us that his next target is Brett, simple because Brett has potential to win this game. At the reward challenge, they divided into teams: Mick, Natalie, and Brett were the first team, Natalie picked, in which she picked Brett, clearly because she wanted to pray during this challenge, in which when the challenge actually begun, she did end up praying with Brett, hoping she’d win this reward. However, in this challenge they had to pull strings, hoping to not release coconuts. The first team to release 100 coconuts loses. Natalie’s prayer didn’t work, the reward went to Shambo, Russell, and Jaison. Apparently God has better plans for Natalie, Brett, and Mick, such as a day at camp.

Russell, Shambo, and Jaison went on this reward, which was a meal with locals. By the way, neither Shambo, Russell, nor Jaison could dance, not even with Samoans. Russell says the food will “pump him up” for the next challenge. while Brett and Mick will starve. Jaison talks about this reward was the best day, since apparentlyall of the other 33 other days were crappy for him. Shambo and Jaison ended up having been worried, and confused as to why Natalie picked Brett first in the challenge. Russell tells the cameras that he insists Natalie is with him, and not Brett or anyone else. If Natalie was so into being with Russell, then why she picked Brett for the challenge was something I don’t know. Back at camp, Natalie, Brett, and Mick decided to follow Brett’s idea and pick snails and have dinner by the beach, and just forget about the game.

At the immunity challenge, the survivors had to count various objects, and place the number on a staation, where the numbers would come out to a combonation they’ll need to solve first in order to win immunity. During this challenge, Jaison was the first to finish, but had his combination wrong, and had to recount. So, it was between Brett and Mick, in which it was Brett who won, and was spared making himself win the first ticket to the finale. So, it was time for heading back to camp, where Jaison gets Shambo targeted, simply because Jaison knows him and Mick can easily beat Brett in challenges better than the others. Shambo is told by Russell that Mick is leaving. In which, we hear Russell talk about voting for Mick, simple because he’s likeable, or voting for Shambo, because Mick/Jaison could be reliable for beating Brett in immunity. So, at tribal council, it was Shambo who was voted off, proving that Foa-Foa can remain a loyal four, and showing that turning on your tribe only works if you have more than one motive, not just Laura or Dave.

Shambo leaving was amazing, because I never liked how she was playing the game. It looks like this game could be won by Russell or Brett, then Jaison. Unless those jurors are extremely upset over Russell not really being a firefighting  Hurricane Katrina victim who lost his dog. I kind of want Russell to make the final three, just to see what BS he can tell the jury, and what attitude the jury gives to him. It’s too obvious to viewers, as most viewers would know who’d win if Brett is  there, he’ll win. So, I think the editors are trying to just put that on us, and make people think Brett will win, but I still think it’s too obvious. Russell will only win if the jurorsare in a good mood, and that’s not what I predict. I feel Jiason would win if Brett/Russell are both out the door. One more thing, Russell not playing his idol on the last day you can play it, just goes to show how arrogant and cocky he’s been, and that turns me off. The finale is Sunday, so my finale blog/ and rankings should be up Monday.

Survivor Samoa – Dave Out (7-1) & Monica Out (5-2)

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog, Survivor, Survivor 19 USA on December 11th, 2009 by Dan

Survivor ended up voting two people out last night, spliting the episode into two immunity challenges, and two tribal councils where two people were voted off. During this episode we were promised that Russell would pull “his boldest move ever” at Tribal Council. More explained as we go along. So, it’s night 30, and we see that Shambo is truely shocked that John was voted off, instead of Dave, what her “vision” said last episode. Russell lies, and tells Shambo it was John who was trying to target Shambo. Umm, if Shambo was John’s target, than how can Russell who thinks he’s a genius explain John voting for Mick and not Shambo? Anyways, it’s Day thirty one and we see Jaison, Monica, and Brett talking about Russell posibly being a jury threat, due to the way he’s played the game. OK, we see that these other people are aware of the puppet master, but aren’t doing anything yet. Then, Jaison tells Monica and Brett that Russell is actually a self mde millionaire, making an atempt to shake things up.

It’s an immunity challenge, and during the immunity challenge, it was simply a traditional game of bowling. Each Survivor had to face someone head to head in a two shot round. If they knock over more pins, they advance. The final round was between Shambo and Jaison. After Shambo missed both of her two shots, Jaison managed to hit two pins, and it was enough for Jiason to take another immunity win. At Camp, Shambo is still dead set on taking Dave out, continuing to play the game personal and delusionally. However, Russell begins scheming, again, as usual, and says that Davehas a lower shot of winning than Shambo, and wants to consider taking Shambo out. So, at tribal council, Dave and Shambo clearly voted for each other, but all the others voted for Dave, and Dave was the eleventh person voted off, and Shambo’s vision was delayed, but true.

It’s the next visible day, and Russell begins telling everyone and taking about Brett being the next biggest threat. Considering that Brett has all his Galu tribe members and has no negative vibes from those Galu jurors, him as a jury threat is clearly logic to say. So, it was time for the next immunity challenge, in which they had to swim out and receive bags, then launch them on a calipult into a basket. It was clearly a close race between Brett and Mick, and it was Brett who won, foiling the plans of Russell, as he was left to not vote for Brett. Back at Camp, Monica confronts Rusell about being a self made millionaire. Great job Russell, you tell one person something, and now you know everyone knows it. You have nobody to blame but yourself, congratulations. Russell gets upset that he made a mistake telling these people his secret, and storms around camp, upset and outraged, out to find out who told Monica this. The fingers are pointed to Jaison, who says Monica is stirring up stuff because she’s trying to stick around.

At Tribal council, Monica begins telling Russell like it is, and Russell pulls out his idol. Not to play it, but to just simply wear it, and let everyone knows he has it. Sure, that’s a “bold move”, I mean, we all saw Yul of season thirteen show everyone the idol. Not at tribal council, but at an auction, but still, Russell was just being like what Monica said at Tribal Council, “humble”. At tribal council’s vote, it was Russell who took two votes (From Monica, Brett) and Monica who took five votes, and she was voted off. Clearly she wasn’t the one who told everyone Russell was a millionaire, Jiason did that trick, and Russell was just dumb to believe Jaison. I truly feel Jaison will be the only one bold enough to take Russell down, if Russell is taken down. Mick and Natalie seem too scared to take him down now, and Brett has no numbers, and Shambo won’t turn on Russell.

Since this is the near end of the game, with just two episodes left, I want to give a complete analysis of what the jurors could do, and where I believe the current final six stand with the jury:

The present Jurors and their potential views:

Erik-Could vote for either Shambo or Brett, who were most loyal to him, or Russell, as he isn’t likely to be an extremely bitter juror. I don’t see him voting for Mick, Jaison, or Natalie, unless he has to. If anyone becomes a swing vote in the jury, it’s him, hands down.

Kelly-I think she’s pulling for Brett, and obviously not Russell or Shambo. Will possibly vote for either Jiason, Natalie, or Mick next, if Brett is out.

Laura-Will not vote for Russell or Shambo, and is clearly pulling for Brett all the way. Will vote for Natalie, Jaison, or Mick is one of them is there.

John-Is likely pulling for Shambo, then Brett. I don’t see him voting for Russell, and could vote for Mick, Natalie, Jaison, if Bret and Shambo are absent from the final three.

Dave-Will not vote for Shambo or Russell, and will pull for Brett. Will only vote for Natalie, Mick, or Jaison if it’s the only option.

Monica-Will not vote for Shambo or Russell, and is pulling for Brett. Will only vote for Natalie, Mick, or Jaison is necessary.

The final six, and their chances of winning is a specific order:

Brett- He will get a vote from Kelly, Laura, Dave, and Monica hands down. Erik may vote for him, depending on what the circumstance is, and who’s there, and how well the finalists present themselves. He could get John’s vote, if Shambo is absent from the final three. He will only get to the final three by two shots: winning the next three immunities, which could happen, I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened, or the Foa-Foa members use him as a pawn to turn on each other, and he slides to the final three, or perhaps a combo of the two scenarios. He would be considered in my books, a Jenna Morasca type winner. Used as a pawn, could potentially win immunity  in order to stick around, and recieve a landslide amount of votes from the jury.

Jaison- He isn’t in Russell’s final three plans, so what he needs to do is get him, Mick, and Natalie to the final three, and execute that plan. I only see him winning if he is somehow gets bitter juror votes. If Brett, say, is the next to go, he’ll likely, and this was in the previews, take Shambo/Russell to the final three, and could get votes, considering some jurors will never vote for Shambo or Russell (Laura, Kelly, Dave, & Monica). Or Jaison could be thinking Russell/Shambo are more dangerous, and execute a plan to boot them 5th & 4th, and could still win. I sense Jaison is the potential swing vote at final five, if Brett’s next.

Natalie- If Russell has his current way, and we see him, Shambo, and Natalie in the final three, I can see  Natalie winning this way and this way pretty much only. Laura, Kelly, Dave, and Monica were betrayed when Shambo turned on Galu, and clearly don’t like Russell, and have no interest in seeing Russell win. If Russell has his final three plans go into action, Natalie could be the benefit from this.

Mick- He will only get to the final three by winning immunities, and could only beat out Russell and Shambo, if he’s in the final three with them. I can tell he’s Russell’s alternate target is Brett gets immunity, or perhaps, he gets cut loose for being caught targeting Russell. He’s not in Russell’s final three plans, and would easily lose to Jaison or Natalie, if he went to the final three with them. I don’t see a Mick/Shambo/Russell combo, right now.

Shambo- Will get a vote from Erik and John, and probably just those two. I don’t see any other vote for her, right now. Two won’t be enough votes for her, and Monica, Kelly, Laura, and Dave could be last on  their lists for her to win.

Russell- I can only see him recieving a vote from Erik, and if Brett isn’t blindsided, maybe Brett. I clearly see that if he betrayed Mick and Jaison, they’ll be way to bitter.

Here are what I feel are the most Likely Final three outcomes and how things could turn out:

Russell/Natalie/Shambo – If Russell has his final three plans executed epically, this should be the outcome I predict. Shambo would get 2 votes (Erik, John), Natalie has an easy four votes (Kelly, Laura, Dave, Monica). It wouldn’t matter what Brett, Jaison, or Mick did, but they’d porbably vote for Natalie anyways. Natalie could win with at least a 2-3-4 vote, or a 2-7-0 vote. Mick and Jaison will hold a huge grudge if Russell turns on them, I can easily see that.

Brett/Any 2 – If Brett gets to the final two, withany of the other two of the other five, simply by winning the last three immunities, he’s already got five votes, four of them already set in stone, with Erik who could go either way. He’s got Kelly, Laura, Dave, Monica, and could get Erik’s vote to call it a deal.

Russell/Shambo/Jaison – In the event Natalie became a loose cannon, and Russell had to let her go, this is potentially Russell’s next dream final three. In this event, I can see the same four Anti-Shambo/Anti-Russell four (Kelly, Laura, Dave, Monica) voting for Jaison. Mick and Natalie would be just as bitter that Russell didn’t take them to the end, and Brett would likely follow with this, too. I see Shambo getting Erik/John to vote for her, dead set in stone. If this combo occurs, it’ll likely end in a 2-7-0 vote, Jaison’s favour.

Jaison/Natalie/Mick – If Foa-Foa and Shambo take out the last target, Brett, and these guys go to the finale, I see Jaison will easily try to weasel himself as a swing vote, and make the decision to take Natalie/Mick or Russell/Shambo to the final three. If he takes Natalie and Mick there (and I think it’s less likely), I see the jurors being less present jurors actually voting for the better player, if Jaison executes this final three, he will get the votes from the present jury plus Brett’s vote, simply  only losing a vote from Russell/Shambo, or maybe Russell could admit defeat and vote for Jaison. If this final three occures, I can expect to see Jaison winning with at least seven votes (first six jurors, Brett), With Russell/Shambo going either of the three ways.

TAR US – Ranking of the Winners & Seasons

Posted in Amazing Race (The), Authors, Dan's Blog on December 7th, 2009 by Dan

Here is the next ranking of the winners & seasons of The Amazing Race:. Yes, this time, they are together, and the words being said about them are a lot less.

Winners:

1. Flo/Zach (TAR3) – He was really nice, She was really horrifically entertaining. It couldn’t get better for them.

2. Uchenna/Joyce (TAR7) – They beat Rob/Amber, that’s why I rank them so high. How much better could they be?

3. Tammy/Victor (TAR14) – A dominating, intelligent, witty team I still loved to root for and see win last season.

4. Chip/Kim (TAR5) – I remmeber liking them in seasson five, especially when they beat the other TAR5 teams.

5. Tyler/James (TAR10) – They were a good team, and I loved to see them win, except they had little competition.

6. Rachel/TK – I loved them too, and they were a nice couple who raced well, and was glad to see them win.

7. Freddy/Kendra – I liked them, and will easily defend Kendra’s comment on Africa not being a truely bad comment.

8. Nick/Starr (TAR13) – Starr was the star of the show, but Nick was bland, but they did dominate the season a whole lot.

9. Meghan/Cheyne (TAR15) – Were not my favourties, a bit bland, but did race as well as Nick/Starr.

10. Eric/Danielle (TAR11AS) – Would’ve been a beter team if it was Jeremy there, and not Danielle.

11. Rob/Brennen (TAR1) – They were a nice team, and did okay, but I wanted Frank/Margarita to win.

12. Chris/Alex (TAR2) – I clearly don’t remember them that much, so I don’t have anything else to say.

13. BJ/Tyler (TAR9) – Rewatching TAR9 last weekend, they kind of grew on me, just a tad little.

14. Linz Family (TAR8FE) – They were arrogant, especially to the Weavers, and not very good, really.

15. Reichen/Chip (TAR4) – Just winners, that I didn’t like.

Seasons:

1. TAR14 – Entertaining challenges, interesting teams that didn’t fight so much, and one of the best winners.

2. TAR11AS – One of the most competitive seasons ever made, thanks to Eric, Charla/Mirna, and Dustin/Kandice.

3. TAR12 – Had a lot of interesting, unexpecting, diverse teams make it very far that made the season very good.

4. TAR7 – They had a lot of good teams who made the race competitive, which is always a plus. Also, it was good seeing Romber lose.

5. TAR1 – It was a very good classic for a good show like TAR. It had good teams, a lot of which we’ll remember forever.

6. TAR15 – It was a good season, that had a lot of okay teams, in which it was still a good season.

7. TAR10 – It was very good, that had a nice first major plot, the 6-pack alliance and Dustin/Kandice & Tyler/James.

8. TAR5 – It had a lot of competitive spirit, and went to some amazing places like Phillipines, Egypt & Canada.

9. TAR9 – It had Hippies, Frats, and Mojo who made it very competitive, and they went to some good places, too.

10. TAR3 – It had Flo/Zach who were my all time favorites, which was just about the best memorable thing there.

11. TAR6 – It had a lot of dramatic teams, but they still went to interesting places like Norway & Iceland.

12. TAR13 – They had all the teams we wont remember, and it was stable due to Nick/Starr there.

13. TAR2 – Easily the season I hardly remember anythign from, probably since I didn’t see it all yet.

14. TAR4 – Had a good start, loved Tian/Jaree,m but fell apart due to a bad, boring ending.

15. TAR8FE – Had an okay concept, but why  again did they gang up on the Weavers?

TARUS15 – Meghan/Cheyne win the race

Posted in Amazing Race (The), Amazing Race 15 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog on December 7th, 2009 by Dan

TAR 15 ended last night, and we have our winners, Meghan & Cheyne, and they have won seven out of twelve legs this season, making it a tie for the most legs won, as they are tied with Nick & Starr of season thirteen.

In this race, teams had to make their way to the Graceland wedding chapel where an Elvis Impersonator will hand them their next clue. Then, the teams were at their roadblock: The Mandalay bay, where one member had to rappel down. At the Mirage, the teams had to harness in a bungee cord and be lifted up high enough to grab a bouquet of flowers and hand them to a hippy actress. Then, teams had to figure out their next destination was the Monte Carlo, where they had to count $1,000,000 of poker chips to recieve their next clue. Then, finally, teams had to make their way to the MGM Grand, where teams had to find Mr. Las Vagas, or Wayne Newton, to tell them their finish line spot. The finish line was in Wayne Newton’s house, or Casa De Shanandoah. Here is the recap of how the teams performed in reverse placing order:

Brian Ericka (3rd place) – Brian/Ericka started off with the best of the three taxi drivers, and Ericka completed the roadblock first, before Meghan/Cheyne or Sam/Dan. They fell behind at the Bouquet task, when Ericka couldn’t get the bouquet easily, as they got very frusterated, especially Ericka. They failed to figure out the chip counting twice, which pretty much put them in third place. I really had fun rooting for them, and enjoyed them he most throughout the race.

Sam/Dan (2nd place) – They started off with the slowest of the taxis, and were the last at the roadblock. They were going to follow Meghan/Cheyneat the wrong hotel, but easily found out they needed to go to Monte Carlo. They got the chip count wrong the first time, in which this got them second place. They really only bickered on the chip count, but not as bad, since there was no detour.

Meghan/Cheyne (1st place) – Meghan/Cheyne started on the roadblock, with Cheyne competing, andthey finish just behind Brain/Ericka. Then, after they finish the bouquet challenge, they ended up driving to the wrong hotel, in which they let Sam/Dan in first place. Then, they finished the chip counting first and arrived to the finish line first, becoming the first team to arrive, winning The Amazing Race’s 15th season. I fairly agree they were good racers, and were probably one of the best racers on the race to win, ever, simply because of their good first place finishes.

Now, we have season sixteen to look after for, in which one team we’ll always remember from that season is Jeff/Jordan from Big Brother US 11. Also, we have discovered another beauty queen, Miss Teen 2007, Caitlyn Upton, who the first underaged contestant to break the must-be-over-21 rules. TAR always has a lot of beauty queens, as it seems that is the present obsession for TAR. Check in later to see my rankings of Seasons & Winners of TAR.
