AI9 – “Best of the Rest” Episode
This is what American Idol calls “The Best of the Rest” episode, where we saw more successful and unsuccessful hopefuls audition throughout the seven cities they traveled to. After this blog, I have decided to make my own “Top 24″ list and see how many of my top 24, make the actual top 24, rather than doing a top twelve.
Jessica Furney – She sang a song, co-written by Simon Cowell. In my opinion, she sang very beautiful. Randy says she’s improved since her last audition, and she gets a full house and four votes to Hollywood.
Amanda Stectman – A hopeful auditioning out of Boston, who sings okay to me. Victoria says she needs to connect more. The judges say her personality was a lot like dramatic acting, which could’ve influenced her singing. However, she got four votes yes to Hollywood.
Lee Dewyze – A short segment of a guy who sang okay, and is put through to Hollywood.
Crystal Bosersox – Another short segment of a girl who sings pretty decent, getting approval for Hollywood.
Lacey Brown – A Top 50 Hollywood hopeful of last year, who sang well enough and pretty beautiful in my opinion. Randy liked her tune, and she was one of Kara’s favorites. She gets put through to Hollywood with four yes’s.
Stephenie Fisher – When she sang, she didn’t sound the worst, but not good enough for the judges, and for the seventh time on American Idol, she was rejected.
Rachel Hubbard – A 16 year old girl with a short audition segment, who sang okay, and was put through to Hollywood.
Genesis Moore – Another sixteen year old who auditions and hears from Randy she was one of the best. If I remember correctly, I really liked her too.
Adrian Chandtchi – A 6 ft. & 8 in. guy who has apasion for swimming. When he sang, he sounded much like a girl. However, Kara says he sounded like a school boy. He was rejected.
Michael Lynche – A personal trainer who is a father to be, having a kid on the way. In my pinion, he sang different than he looks. Randy says he can sing, and all of the judges say yes to him for Hollywood.
Didi Denami – A girl who is singing in honor of her best friend who passed away. In my opinion, she sang very strong and emotional. Kara says she knew she wants this bad, and she was really emotional after singing as well. Avril says she has high potential. The judges all say yes to her.
Aaron Kelly – A guy who grew up with his parents having financial problems, and had his aunt and uncle raise him. I thought he sang excellent, but not my taste, as he sang Miley Cyrus, which is only good if you’re going for preteen sensation. He did get four votes yes to Hollywood.
Kimberly Bishop – She sings “I kissed a Girl”, by Katy Perry. Randy says it wasn’t good enough, but Simon would’ve said yes. Kara said no, and also says that girl was weird, after Kimberly left the audition room.
Shaddaii Harris – A girl who started singing, and moved okay. However, the judges say she can’t sing, and she was rejected.
Hope Johnson – A girl who grew up poor. She claims music is her way of escaping troubles. I thought she sang okay in my opinion. Randy says she has a beautiful tone. All of the judges voted yes for her to Hollywood.
Over 180 hopefuls are going to the next round, the Hollywood round, which starts next week. Here is a LLNMD poll of the hopefuls shown in this episode.
