Survivor HvV – Episode 3: “That Girl is Like a Virus”

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog, Survivor, Survivor 20 USA on February 26th, 2010 by Dan

Hello, everyone, back for another Survivor blog, since after all, I got the Television access I needed after waiting paitently for it. :) So, the Survivor episode begins with night six, as the Survivor Heroes talk about wanting to win, JT apologizes to Tom and Colby for not voting thir way, and voting Stephenie out. Then, at the same night, on the Villains camp, Rob talks about the Survivor sleeping arrangements: Nobody sleeps next to someone they want to vote out. That could be something to remember for future Survivors, maybe me.

So, Rupert goes on about hoping and seeing the team start to work together, when all we sw was the hero guys catch a bunch of chickens. Then, Candace goes and tells JT stuff about strategy. Then, JT tells Cirie that Candace doesn’t trust her. When Cirie confronts Candace, Candace began scrambling to find out who lied about her, not able to figure out it was JT. So, now we should expect to see JT to be more like a Villain.

Back at the Villains camp, some of the camp members begin to not like each other.  Parvati and Jerri don’t seem to get along, as Jerri says she feels like punchng Parvati in the face and Parvati calls Jerri an old cougar. A lot of people really seem threatened by Parvati, and also Jerri gives us the episode title, saying Parvati is like a virus. Also, Coach and Rob talk about not being able to trust Russell, but I think they are clearly underestimating him, since they don’t know him.

Then it was time for the next immunity challenge. The survivorshad to use a large sumo pillow, and try to knock one another off. The first tribe to eight points wold win immunity. In all irony, it was the heroes that ended up scoring ne point a piece, able to take all of the points, and win immunity. So, back at the Villains camp, everyone had two options: Vote for Parvati, and get a threat out or vote for Randy and vote out the weakest. At tribal council, Randy turned around and voted for Rob, sticking abullet at him, but ultimately, everyone voted for Randy, and he was voted off. As he was about to pick up his torch, he threw his buff in the fire.

So far, I was a bit surprised to see them vote out their weakest person, vurses voting out a huge threat like Parvati, but I’m glad that Parvati stays so she’s hopefully get Jerri out. I still think Rob is setting himself up for failure, since Randy seems sto know that. So far, we barely see Danielle and Courtney, but the heroes were fairly shown enough. Rupert has the right idea about team effort, the heroes just don’t show that  in competitions, since in this one, they really won a point in an individual mannor. So far,

I have high expecations for Russell and Parvati from the villlains, and I believe Cirie is in a good position, and I think Colby and Tom are going to come up from behind, and maybe get the girls on their side. I believe that I expect to see people like Rob, JT, James, Rupert, Jerri, and Coach to find themselves in trouble soon, just because they aren’t getting rid of the right people, either Parvati or Russell, or JT is stuck with the wrong people right now. Coach, was the one closest to getting Parvati out, along with Jerri, we’ll see if it’s too late. Here is an LLNMD list:

Love: Parvati, Cirie,

Like: Colby, Tom, Randy, Candace,

Neutral: Russell, Amanda, Sandra

Meh: Rob, James, JT, Rupert, Danielle, Courtney,

Dislike: Coach, Jerri, Tyson

USA’s Survivor 20 – Episode 2

Posted in Authors, Nemle's Blog, Survivor, Survivor 20 USA on February 23rd, 2010 by Nemle

The episode begins at night and on the Villains tribe. They have a horrible shelter. So badly that standing under a tree would keep them more dry. While everyone lies awake at night, Rob complains in his confessional about how he’s in a tribe with lazy morons. Oddly, he even compares them to his tribes from Marquesas and All-Stars. I’ll admit that those in All-Stars were indeed morons for practically worshipping Rob and Amber, but they were far from lazy. If you rewatch All-Stars, his tribe (Chapera) was very hard working. And if we decide to look back to Marquesas, yes his tribe (Maraamu) were lazy. And psycho. But not morons. He had very smart people in his tribe. He simply chose to vote them out and keep the dumb ones longer. I’m getting sidetracked though, so moving on…

Come morning time the Villains decide to destroy their shelter and build a new one. Again. For the 5th time. Rob decides he’s the boss and everyone else is his minion workers. But when Parvati gives her opinion, showing her Parvs charm smile, it stirs an arguement. Courtney jumps in trying to explain how the new design should be. This then leads to Randy commenting on how the waitress (Courtney) knows more than the contruction worker (Rob). I believe it was an attempt at sarcasm, but Randy is annoying and not at all funny, so it’s a FAIL. In an odd turn around from Samoa, Russell actually tries to calm things. What happened to the villain America fell in hate with!? I don’t want a goody Russell! I want to see the evil Russell!

We then join the Heroes tribe doing their daily chores in their perfect camp. Stephenie decides to be a nice little helper and puts breakfast on; crisp coconut. Rupert then puts his 2 cents in, explaining how it should be cooked. Cause you know…Rupert knows all. I mean, just look back on his shelter in All-Stars, right!? Total ownage there! (Hey Randy…THAT is sarcasm. Learn it!)

This sparks a war between Rupert and Stephenie. She goes on a rant in her confessional about how annoying it is to be told what to do, but when she asked him for advice on how to do what he just told her she was doing wrong…he said no. He doesn’t want to interfere. What!? Rupert! You just wow me, but not in the good way. Rupert then gets the chance to rant in his own confessional about how he thinks Steph needs to go. He has no valid reason. I just think he hates the competition. No, not in Survivor. In the hearts of America. Rupert is the most loved male Survivor of all time, according to official Survivor polls. Steph is the most loved female. Rupert is selfish and wants all the love for himself. Rupert! Sweety! America has enough love to go around, bro!

Back at the Villains tribe, Rob goes out for a water break. On his way out he admits to Sandra that he’s feeling weak and dizzy. While in the jungle, Rob passes out. Lucky for him Jerri was following. Not sure why though. Maybe she’s stalking him? She runs to get help. Medical then comes in and checks him out. There’s no response at first, but he does wake. They give him a bottle of water, but he can’t even hold it up to his mouth. After a full check out, getting hydrated and taking a break long enough to gain his strength Rob stands and returns to camp. But not before having an emotional break down with Probst, realizing he’s conflicted on how to play the game; the villain role that brought him here or the good guy he’s grown into through the years. Getting married and having a baby girl has made him more of a good guy and less of the villain we’re used to him being.

It’s then time for the Immunity Challenge!

Wait. No Reward Challenge!? I is sad now! But wait! It’s a combo! The winning tribe also gets a tarp, rope and nails.

Those who watched Tocantins should recognize this challenge. Each tribe has 6 human sized crates that they must run out then roll back to their mat, 2 members at a time. Once a tribe has all of their crates, they then need to place all crates in a specific order to form a staircase that will allow them to reach the top of a platform. If done correctly, their tribe name should be visible on the sides of the staircase.

Since only 6 members will partake from each tribe, Villains were asked to sit out 2 members and Heroes sat out 1. Courtney and Randy sat out for the Villains and Rupert for the Heroes. What!? I’m not seeing what Rupert is bringing to this game. He failed in the first Challenge, did nothing in the second challenge and is now sitting out of the third.

The Heroes totally dominate the first half of this challenge. They have a large lead and have decided as a tribe that JT is the “voice” of the tribe. Everyone is to listen to him and only him. JT doesn’t do that good a job of leading them. The Villains tribe place 4 of their crates before the heroes even get their 3rd in place.

The Heroes tribe backtrack when JT is looking for an “R”. Colby is the first to point at a crate that has an “R” and tells everyone to move it. Sadly, the crate he chose was already in its correct spot, so they essentially move it out of place to give it to JT. When JT realizes this he gets irritated. But not nearly as much as James, who begins to get rude and loud during the challenge. Still convinced Colby was correct about the crate, Stephenie tries her best to convince the tribe it’s the wrong piece. James yells at her in retaliation. “One voice! One voice!” By this time the Villains have already won and the challenge is over.

In a confessional, James compares Stephenie to being kryptonite and him being a super hero. Yeah. Sure you are, buddy.

Back at camp, JT tries to take responsibility for losing the puzzle section since he was the “voice” for it. However, everyone was like “No, you were perfect. It’s other people’s fault!” UGH! Not another JT worshipping season, please!? This is all followed by James yelling at everyone at camp for losing and not listening to JT. My nephew once threw a tantrum like that. His mother smacked him on his tush and sent him to his bedroom.

Not much occurs over at the Villains camp, except everyone seems to be trying to catch fish. To prove he’s mightier than thou, Russell tries catching a chicken. And succeeds! Where in the world are these chickens coming from!?

Chicken Count!

James then runs around telling everyone that Stephenie needs to be voted out. He uses the fact that she was the last of her old tribe in Palau (Ulong) as a negative. What happened to James? In both China and Micronesia he was lovable. Boring, but still lovable. Now he’s crueler than the actual Villains are!

Lines are drawn in the sand. It’s Colby/Steph/Tom vs. JT/Amanda/James/Rupert, with Cirie and Candice as the deciding factor. In hopes of convincing Cirie to side with them, Stephenie makes a deal that once it’s down to them 5 she’ll side with Cirie and Candice. Steph also points out that if she is indeed voted out tonight then Cirie will be next to go.

Cirie and Candice sneak off alone and discuss what they should do. They make it official that the 2 of them should stick together. Nothing more is really revealed in this brief moment, so let’s jump to…

Tree House Tribal Council!

Again, JT tries to take the blame for the loss, which fails. People are in love with JT too much. When asked about him being frustrated, James then attacks Stephenie. No lie! He flat out attacks her, first claiming that she is the cause for their loss. He then backtracks, saying he said “ya’ll”. But then Colby and Tom come to her defense, calling James out as a bully.

So it now comes down to Cirie and Candice. Will they side with Tom/Colby/Steph to vote out Amanda? Or will they side with Amanda/James/Rupert/JT to vote Stephenie out?

In the end it’s 6-3…

As she leaves, Stephenie says to the tribe: “Just some advice. Next time ya’ll lose a challenge a little less cursing off your tribe might help.” Per usual, James then needs to have the last word. He responds by telling her to keep her mouth shut.

After being voted out of the game, Stephenie revealed in an interview with PEOPLE on what wasn’t shown during the show. In the interview she reveals that JT (aka the “One Voice”) was stumped during the puzzle part of the challenge and wasn’t giving orders for most of it. Instead of standing and waiting, it was actually Candice who took the reigns to get things moving. However, when James started to get loud Candice went into verbal hiding, leaving Colby and Steph to receive James’s rage.

In a shocking interview with Zap2it, Stephenie reveals that not only did most of the cast not know who Russell even was…they weren’t even allowed to ask him about it!! Nor was he allowed to volunteer information! This surprises me because it shows that the producers wanted everyone in the dark, ensuring Russell had an unfair advantage in the game.

And that’s what happened in Episode 2. Leave a comment, telling me what you guys think. Whose side would you have been on? Steph’s or James’s? Do you think Cirie and Candice chose the right side or no? Why or why not?

TARUS16 – Episode 2: “When the Cow Kicked me in the Head”

Posted in Amazing Race (The), Amazing Race 16 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog on February 22nd, 2010 by Dan

TAR gave us our second episode, and it was good, just like I expected out of TAR. What teams had to do in this leg where teams had to make their way to Isla Margarits where they were given their detour: play dress up with a llama or fly like condors. Then, teams had to make their way to Bellavistas where one person had to catch items to make a kuchen, a German-Chilean cake or pie. Then teams have to make their way to gruta de la Vergen, a church as their second pit stop.

1st: Jet/Cord – This team was completely look at as genius a their second bus stop, when they did something that made Jeff/Jordan & Caite/Brent miss the bus, I completely forgot. Then, they completely the llama detour with ease and whilethey knew some teams had almost caught up to their commanding lead, they still remained at the front of the pack, and eventually got first place. If they keep racing the way they did, they’ll be pretty good, and have so much potential to get ahead.

2nd: Joe/Heidi – They decided to make an alliance with Carol/Brandy, and saved them a spot during the bus ticketing, which got the detectives mad. They raced very closely along with Carol/Brandy and were almost always in second throughout the leg. They seem to be good with strategy and are showing as much potential as Jet/Cord and if they continue they’ll be just as good.

3rd: Carol/Brandy – They were pretty much racing with Joe/Heidi, and were showing themselves to be followers. I think they got lucky they got an early bus and still need to step it up if they want to get ahead, which they’re okay for now.

4th: Brent/Caite – They were one of two teams who tried to connect to the destination through another city, but missed a bus, and got very lucky to find another one. I believe they are showing they can show a potential to race, I’m not sure how much mistakes it takes for them to, you know, get eliminated.

5th: Monique/Shawne – They were on the third bus, carrying four teams, the next  few teams, the most teams. They are pretty much still good racers, they had no blunder other tham just sticking with their first choice, and not finding better flights. Whichever one of them did the roadblock, was indeed the one who got kicked in the head by the cow, where the episode title comes from.

6th: Jeff/Jordan – They are almost, kind of, in an alliance with Caite/Brent, claiming those two teams are very much alike. I would agree with that statement, but, who knows. I believe they are okay racers, but they certainly didn’t get lucky. Like Carol/Brandy, they basically stuck with one team, calling them allies, then trailin them. They actually had a hard time finding the pit stop, which they basically had fifth, then fell to an official sixth.

7th: Steve/Allie – They are pretty much this season’s under edited team, they haven’t been shown very much. We just get glimpses of them at the tasks, but no personal story has been developed between them yet. So, there’s not much to say about them yet. I hope we see more of them, though.

8th: Dan/Jordan – They really fell behind finding either theroadblock or detour, something like that. They have proven to be bad at directions, which isn’t a good thing. They don’t look like horrible racers, and they did their tasks okay.

9th: Michael/Louie – The only thing I remember about them is that they were upset of Joe/Heidi holding spots in line. Also, they couldn’t find the roadblock, so that put them down a lot. They don’t seem like very good racers, and I wouldn’t be surprised to actually see them gone next.

10th: Jody/Shannon – They ended up being the slow team to the line, and ended up last, basically because they caught the last bus, and didn’t get a chance to catch up and pass someone. There’s not muh to say about them either, as they didn’t add much to the show either. I will probably forget these girls were ever on the race.

Not much else to say. Not clearly a favorite yet. See ya Friday. Here’s an LLNMD:

Love:

Like: Jet/Cord, Joe/Heidi, Caite/Brent, Jeff/Jordan, Monique/Shawne

Neutral: Carol/Brandy, Steve/Allie, Dan/Jordan, Louie/Michael, Jody/Shannon

USA’s Survivor 20 – Episode 1

Posted in Authors, Nemle's Blog, Survivor, Survivor 20 USA on February 21st, 2010 by Nemle

Hey everyone! My name is Nemle! I’ll be taking over the Survivor USA blogging. My style is a bit more spicy than the normal blogger. I have an opinion and it’s not always the sweetest. Ha!

Now, I know Dan has already given a blog about Survivor so far, but instead of catching the next one I want to write some from these past two episodes as well, to give you all a taste of what to expect from me throughout the weeks. I hope it makes you smile and think outside the box! Enjoy!

Let’s have a quick introduction to our cast…

From left to right; top to bottom…Rob, Jerri, Randy, Parvati, Danielle, Coach, Tyson, Sandra, Russell & Courtney.

From left to right; top to bottom…Colby, Stephenie, Sugar, Amanda, Rupert, Cirie, JT, James, Candice & Tom.

In my opinion, Danielle and Candice are random, non-deserving choices to be brought into this game. Probst went on record to say that Danielle is a “villain” for voting Terry out after he helped her learn how to make fire in her original season. Making a single move at the F3 doesn’t make someone a villain, in my eyes. On the flip side, Candice is a “Hero” for wanting to mutiny to be with her friends. I don’t think that makes her a hero. I think it makes her a baby.

I’ve also noticed that Parvati is stacked with possible allies. Parvati has previously worked with James, Amanda, Cirie and Candice.

Then we have Russell. Hands down a villain. But he’s getting a fresh start! Filming for Heroes vs Villains ended on September 16th. Samoa aired episode 1 on September 17th. This means Russell played the entire season of Heroes vs Villains with nobody knowing who he is or why he’s there. Seems a tad unfair to me.

Onto Episode 1…

The episode begins by showing the castaways in helicopters and getting brief introduction confessionals of everyone saying why they’re back and how they’ll play the game. We see Rob being cocky, Sandra admitting she’s going to make up good lies, Russell plugging Google, Coach “feeling electricity”, Cirie comparing herself to a gangster Oprah, and Jerri giving herself the nickname Man Eater Manthey.

They then land on the beach in front of Probst where he badgers them with a few questions that clearly made a few feel uncomfortable. First impressions…Courtney stands there, the twig she is, looking like a chihuahua growling at someone’s ankle. It’s sort of adorable. Sugar’s hair makes her look like a poodle, while Sandra’s makes her look like a doberman. Then I spit my milk out when Colby makes a reference to how he’s heard of people naming dogs after him back when season 2 aired.

They rush into the first Reward Challenge; flint being the reward. To those who watched Surivor: Exile Island, you’ll recall this physical challenge. Two players from each tribe rush out to a sepcific area of sand to dig up a bag. They then fight over the bag and try their best to bring it back to their tribe’s mat. First tribe to 3 points wins.

Round 1 pits Cirie/Steph vs Danielle/Parvati. Cirie literally grabs Parvati by the neck at one point, dragging her to the ground. What happened to Cirie being a good guy!? Danielle scores Point 1, while Steph dislocates her arm!

Round 2 pits JT/Amanda vs Randy/Jerri. JT puts Randy in some sort of country body lock. It’s long enough for Randy to lose focus and JT to score the Heroes tribe a point.

Round 3 pits Colby/Tom vs Coach/Russell. Coach actually decides NOT to dig. Instead to just wait, watch and attack. Russell twists Tom’s leg; Probst yelled to play fair. It quickly becomes a Coach and Colby battle. Colby drags the bag and Coach all the way to the mats, but at the last minute Coach turns it on him, making the win.

Round 4 pits Sugar/Candice vs Sandra/Courtney. Hoping to embarrass Sugar, Sandra purposely unhooks Sugar’s top. However, Sugar runs to the mat and scores the Heroes tribe a point…topless. The doberman attacks the poodle, but the poodle is a scrapper!

Final Round pits James/Rupet vs Rob/Tyson. Rob does the same strategy as Coach, but it fails. James is too much for them and scores the winning point. Rupert walks away with a broken toe though.

Back at the Villains camp, Russell starts the exact strategy as he did in Samoa. Making random alliances with all the females. Danielle and Parvati both agree. The shocking part is that Parvati seems to know who Russell is and how he plays, calling him the devil. How is that even possible!? They were on the island before Samoa even aired!! She even states in her confessional that she KNOWS he’s making these same moves.

The Heroes start by taking a group bath then a discussion on the shelter. Sugar puts her first foot in her mouth by calling Tom and Rupert out as being old. Amanda goes on a rant about karma that I doze off on, but I awoke to Tom catching 4 chickens! What the…! Tom caught a shark in his original season and now 4 chickens. Man, he’s a beast!

Later that night, Jerri and Coach start to get cozy. She flirts. He flirts. They talk about him. I fall asleep. Their tribe later tries to hook them up! OMGerd! Black Widow/Dragon Slayer babies with pointed noses!

Heroes deal with alliances. Past and present. Are Amanda and Cirie working together? Dunno. They seem to avoid each other. Are Tom and Steph? Yes. They don’t even hide it. JT forms a new alliance with James…and then another with Tom.

Randy makes an annoying speech about how it’s pointless to try and make fire without flint. How it’s not possible. Rob must be a miracle worker, cause he manages to do the impossible on his own.

The Heroes have less luck with their fire. Or rather, lack of. Rupert wastes most of their magnesium flint trying and failing. Steph, JT and Colby step in and builds their fire.

At night, Sugar decides she needs a “protector” and tries to cuddle next to Colby. Ohhh Sugar! Did she not learn from Jerri in Outback!? He’s not a Hershey Bar, remember!

Wooo! Immunity Challenge Time!

Six tribe members race to assemble a boat then use it to row out into the water to a torch and back. Once back, the other 4 then complete a puzzle. Once the puzzle is done, the same 4 work to build a ladder to reach the top of a platform.

The Heroes finished their boat pretty fast. They reached the torch before the Villains even finished building their boat.

Despite having a HUGE lead, the Heroes are eventually put on equal ground during the puzzle. Now, they put the blame on Sugar, but I’m not sure why. She tried harder than any of the others. In fact, Rupert wasn’t even helping. He was too busy studying the ladder, stroking his beard like Santa.

So overall, the Villains win…and on cue, Sugar begins to cry.

The 4 names thrown around were Cirie for being the mastermind type of player, Amanda for having allies galore, Sugar for being an outsider and Steph for…not sure why? She’s not that strong really. She’s won what? One challenge her whole career? Ha!

But we do finally learn that Amanda and Cirie indeed are aligned! UGH! So predictable. Then we go to…

OMG!! Tree House Tribal Council

At TC, everyone has a laugh at how Amanda stinks at Finales. Winners are pointed out. Threats are named. Relationships are hinted to. And again Sugar is named the weakest. I still don’t get why. If we look back on the Reward Challenge, she along with JT and James are the only who scored points. I’d think that would put her higher up on the strength scale.

In the end it was 9-1…

In an interview with Gordon Holmes, Sugar confirms that she and most everyone else had no clue who Russell was or what he had done on his season. Only that he was villainous enough to be brought back after a mere two weeks.

Wait. Parvati made it out in her confessionals like she knew EXACTLY what Russell was like. Down right calling him the devil. Was this intuition? A lucky guess? Well, in an interview with Zap2it, Sugar hinted to Parvati having inside information on Russell. If true, this gives her a large advantage to this game.

So, that was my run through of Episode 1. Leave a comment, telling me what you guys think. Did Sugar deserve to be the first boot? If so, why? If not, who should’ve been?

I’ll have an Episode 2 run through posted soon. Hugs to all!

Survivor HvV – Episode 2: “It’s Getting the Best of me”

Posted in Authors, Dan's Blog, Survivor, Survivor 20 USA on February 19th, 2010 by Dan

So, I lucked out again, getting a chance to watch the second episode of survivor. I would like to say that while I’m very lucky, I have to say it’s more than just luck to get to watch Survivor.

Anyways, from what I understand, Rob is pretty much made the leader of his Villains tribe. I was a bit surprised, I thought we would see like Coach or someone try, but it’s better to see Rob as leader than certainly Coach, for sure. Rob complains about how his tribe is horrible at working together around camp, claiming once again, he’s stuck on the baffoon tribe. Meanwhile, at the heroes tribe, Rupert and Stephenie claim they are each other’s threats, which kind of surprised me, I thought Stephenie and Rupert, probably two of Survivor’s most popular heroes, wouldn’t clash.

Then, a near-dramatic scenario happened: Rob nearly passed out, and Jerri got him nedical help, in which the medical team and Jeff Probst come out to investigate Rob’s medical needs. It appears Rob is under the weather, but doesn’t have to be checked out, so he’s safe. I was actually kind of scared, I thought Rob was going to be taken out like Russell was.

Then it was time for the immunity challenge, a challenge derived from the Tocantins season. The two tribes had to roll down blocks and stack them to spell out their tribe name. The Heroes had a good lead, and a good strategy, let JT, who played this challenge, lead everyone. However, Stephenie and James broke into an arguement, causing the team of Heroes to fail, and the Villains once again took the lead away and won immunity, along with winning a tarp for their shelter.

At the Heroes tribe, things seem worse, when James confronts the tribe about not listening to JT, and then he talks about Stephenie, saying she went outlasted her tribe, connecting it to the tribe losing because of Stephenie.  I don’t get the connection, and didn’t understand what James was talking about, I believe Stephenie was certainly heroic for outlasting th tribe, and I’m not sure why James attacked her for that.

So, Stephenie, Colby, and Tom are tight. Candace and Cirie are tight, and it seems like James and Rupert were the main rally towards getting rid of Stephenie. However, Candace and Cirie are actually the swing votes. I believe this is the third time Cirie became a crucial swing vote in by day six or nine, again. She certianly has skills. Stephenie, Tom, and Colby try to pull Cirie and Candace into voting for Amanda, the next weakest player. So, Cirie and Candace, the swing votes, are talking about voting for either Amanda or Stephenie.

Tribal Council occured, and tension erupted between the Stephenie, Tom, and Colby alliance and James, as James once again points out it’s Stephenie’s fault for losing the challenge, because Stephenie always loses. Again, clearly not making any sense. So, it was indeed time to vote. It was Amanda who recieved three votes, and Stephenie who recieved three votes. The last two relevant votes were castedfor Stephenie, so over a 6-3 vote, Stephenie was voted off. As Stephenie left, she makes a harsh statement that got James telling her to shut up. Tom defended Stephenie.

I thought this episode was very great, I really was on the edge of my seat almost. It was obviusly dramatic. We saw a dramatic way of how real this show is, by seeing Rob needing help, and we see conflict in both tribes. I believe that there are two big potential good blindsides: James and Boston Rob. I know, but this is All Stars, it’s time for some of these players to try to step it up, because it looks like Rob could be running another show right now. He’s been proving he can lead the villains around camp and challenges.

I’m also noticing that there is clearly a bond between Jerri and Coach, that I clearly didn’t expect. I also notice that Randy seems more positive, and not so angry at the world. Also, Russell claims he’s still kind Russell, but didn’tadd that much to the show, other than catch a chicken, which made his show off his contribution skills. I’m still excited about this season, and hope to see more of it.

AI9 – Revealing of the Top 24

Posted in American Idol 9 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog, Idol on February 17th, 2010 by Dan

I did happen to catch American Idol last night, I saw the “Last Chance to shine” episode, as I missed out on the day one auditions and the group auditions. So, I do have a list, courtesy of Buzzy Bloggers I have the list of the top 24 American Idolists. At the end, I’ll show my thoughts of them, and see how well m predictions went.

The Men:

Aaron Kelly

Alex Lambert

Andrew Garcia

Casey James

Chris Golightly

David Duke

Jermaine Sellers

John Park

Lee Dewyze

Michael Lynche

Tyler Grady

Todrick Hall

The Women:

Ashley Rodriguez

Haeley Vaughan

Janell Wheeler

Katelyn Epperly

Katie Stevens

Lacey Brown

Lilly Scott

Michele Delamor

Paige Miles

Crystal Bowersox

Siobhan Magnus

Didi Denami

Twelve of these American Idol hopefuls were on my top 24 list I made the other week. That’s not bad, for a prediction. I’m still glad to see Jermaime, Chris, and John on the top 24, despite the fatc I didn’t get to see Chris andJohn perform. I did catch a litle bit of some of them performing. I remember Jermaine, Mary Powers, Angela Martin, and everyone else I’m forgetting. I think when next week rolls around, I’ll try to put the performances down as best as I can, but I won’t remember everything said. Also, I heard that Ellen was (surprisingly to me) a good edition to American Idol.

Please note that I’m not actually taking time to watch the results shows, as I don’t think it’s neccessary to watch someone take 50-something minutes to see who gets eliminated. I will make one post, probably on Friday’s after (if I get a chance) to watch Survivor and blog about Survivor. I’m trying to also cut down on my tv time, also to mention that the next three or so results shows actually start on Thursdays, where I’m trying to watch Survivor. So, yes, expect me to blog what I can once a week.

Edit Note: It has been reported that Chris Golightly, my audition favorite, had been disqualified from the Top 24 competition, due to confusion of a previous contract. Therfore, I’ll have to pick a completely new favorite from the start of the semi finals. A guy named Tim Urban will be Chris Golightly’s eplacment. You can read about Chris Golightly’s disqualificatin here:

TAR16US – Episode One: “Nanna Is Kicking Your Butt”

Posted in Amazing Race (The), Amazing Race 16 USA, Authors, Dan's Blog on February 15th, 2010 by Dan

So, I did end up getting access to watch the premier of TAR16. YAY!!!!! *Happy Dance*. So, in the wise words of Russell, “I’m not done playin’ just yet”. I can continue to try to work with the blog, only I may not be able to watch the show every week, which is a total bummer. Anyways, TAR came on tonight, and it did indeed feature Big Brother housemates, Jeff & Jordan, Controversial Miss. Teen USA pageant girl, Caite Upton.  and along with the other teams we just met. Here is a general idea of how things went down as far as tasks and how each team performed during the race.

In the very beginning, Phil instructs to the teams they’ll have to take public transportation to their airport, where the first three teams to arrive get on the house-ahead flight. That flight ended up delayed due to mechanical errors, in which Brandy was praying for. Then, teams were given their first destination: Santaigo, Chile. Once there, teams had to complete the roadblock: Teams had one member walk a cable line the size of a football field. From there, teams had to take a goldokla-type bus called a funicular to recieve their next clue. Then, in theroute marker, teams had to carry paint, brushes, and ladders to Paseo Templeman where they had to paint a small block of paint on the wall of a house, finishing off by foot arriving to Palacio Faburizza.

1st: Jeff/Jordan – My surprise of the night: Jeff & Jordan actually got first place. Congrats to them. They were one of the three teams who got on the first flight, which got delayed, forcing them to switch tickets to the next light, the flight the other teams were on. They pretty much kept a nice run, as Jordan even kept the lead during the roadblock she completed. They were running past Caite/Brent, the team closely paced with. I was real surprised that Jordan was good. Her prayer was answered: she says she didn’t want to mess up, and I don’t think she did. They can potentially be good competitiors here, as well as they were on Big Brother. However, the sad note is this: Jordan thought the entire time she was going to China, instead of Chile.

2nd: Shawnee/Monique – I believe they were the one of the three leading teams on the delayed flight, proving that the delay didn’t even affect two of the leading teams. This team wasn’t shown as much, but Shawne did this roadblock. Along with prayer answering from and to Jordan and Brandy, they had a different religious insight: one of them were crossing the street with the ladder on them, saying “it’s like carryign a cross” and “I’m gonna be like Jesus”. They ran a solid leg and took a decent second place, moving fast on every task, I believe.

3rd: Jet/Cord – Jet/Cord were pretty much at the back of the pack the entire leg. They clearly had to have found their house to paint almost instantly, considering they were at the bottom three pack, then moving up to the top three. One thing I remember is that Shannon clearly likes them. They too were shown in bits and pieces, but didn’t add much pizzaz to the show in this episode. I love how they were like ninth to complte the roadblock that Cord completed, and then move up to third place, given there was a penalty involved.

4th: Steve/Allie – They moved along with the race easily, except I’m not sure how they got fourth, when they were seen painting the worng house, a house that probably didn’t need a paint job. They weren’t too rememberable either, as now I guess it’s hard to show eleven teams racing than it is to show less than five teams racing. I don’t know what to expect from them.

5th: Joe/Heidi – Joe came out to show a competitie spirit towards him, and I believe we’ll see more of that next episode, if I get to watch it. They seem like they could be a good team, and I don’t think they were bad this race, andthey probably ran solidly in the middle of the pack. So, they showed up at the pit stop at fifth place, just a second behind Steve/Allie. I thought for sure those two teams would be a tie.

6th: Carol/Brandy – I believe they could be one of the more competitive teams, considering we saw Brandy pray her way to wishing for a mechanical failure on a plane she ended up recieving answered and satisfied about. Then, Brandy was on the roadblock, and she didn’t start off to well, but didn’t back down, and completed the race. Then, while we saw them enough in the beginning, I don’t think we saw much of them after the roadblock, so I’m not too sure how they exactly landed into ixth place, but they did.

7th: Caite/Brent -  Caite/Brent started the race in the front of the pack, as I believe Caite was second to complete the roadblock, just minuted behind Jordan. However, they recieved a penalty after walking to a clue rather than taking the Funicular. So, they got a 30-minute penalty that landed them into seventh place. I love how Caite mentions she looks for redemption, but she kindo f didn’t do that right offthe bat, recieving a penalty. Oh well, there’s always eleven more legs to improve on.

8th: Dan/Jordan – Jordan, or who ever is the gay brother, seems like he’s kind of the manipulator. He began reminding teams of who Caitlyn, Jeff/Jordan are, and he wasmocking Caite. He could be a potential guy who ould be fun to watch. They started the race pretty stable, as hey were in the front of the pack. However, they dropped a paint brush, andfailed to find it. Honestly, I’d take a fifteen minute penalty rather than spending too much time finding a paint brush. Thye did indeed recieve a fifteen minute penalty which dropped them from a potential fourth place down to eighth place. So, basically, karma bit them.

9th: Louie/Michael – They don’t really seem like they’ll be good racers. Given we barely saw them, and they never seemed to have much luck, or showed any potential to catch up, they could probably be out pretty soon. I don’t remember anything they really did, so there’s not much to say abou them in this episode.

10th: Jody/Shannon – I was really surprised they got tenth place, I wanted to see if they could do a whole lot better than that. I would say right now they’re on the same plane as Louie & Michael, not showing much luck or much abiltiy to catch up. Not even Shannon who completed the roadblock was seen struggling, or even pulling ahead. Maybe something else put them down, or it was the fact they were last to get a bus to the town, Valparaiso.

11th: Dana/Adrian (ELIMINATED) - After failing two times to get across the cable line, Adrian really struggled with his fear of heights to notbe able to overcome this obstacle, and Phil eliminated both Dana and Adrian before arriving to the pit stop, making them the third team to never make it to a pit stop, (Bil’al/Se’eed, Eric/Lisa) even though they weren’t a part of a twist.

That’s it for this leg, hopefully, I’ll see you some other time!

PBB DOUBLE UP BIG DATE ON THE BIG NIGHT (The Finals)

PBB DOUBLE UP BIG DATE ON THE BIG NIGHT (The Finals)

Well, everything had to come to an end. And for this season, it ended with a bang!!

This Double Up Season made the public anticipated not only for the show but as well with the people involved with the show.

I think that the Philippines, is the only country with the Big Brother franchise to celebrate and end every season very special that it always came to the point of bringing the final housemates to a special tournament place and leaves the BB house earlier before the final show starts.

For this season, the Finals was held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium at exactly 9:00 pm (with the countdown to start through out the whole shows of the ABS CBN Network) and welcomed the public with a Chinese and Valentines Day Theme. (What a great idea and theme! Perfect combination!)

The opening number was a very great sing and dance number from the main host, Toni Gonzaga with the Double Up ex housemates as her back up dancers. PBB Double Up Big Night intro

(for a quick view of the whole Big Night Show, here are the videos:)

PBB Double Up Big Night PART 2

PBB Double Up Big Night PART 3

(other videos will be posted soon..)

The international singing sensation Charice sang the “Pinoy Ako”, theme song of PBB since season 1 (for regular season, except for those special spin off edition like teens and celebrity). She sings the song while welcoming the entrance of the Big 5 to the stadium. Second performance was from Bugoy (Pinoy Dream Academy season 2 2nd placer), to welcome Johan, (the Big 5 still wear a blind fold making them clueless about the happenings on the stadium right at that moment.). third performance was from Jay R of PDA season 1, 2nd placer to welcome Tibo. 4th was Teddy of Rocksteddy Band, to welcome Jayson. 5th was Mark Bautista, to welcome Paul Jake. And lastly was Yeng Constantino, (grand star dreamer of PDA season 1) to welcome Melai. The Big 5 was brought to an improvised confession room in the Ninoy Aquino Stadium (isolated from the public’s roar!). then after Yeng, all the performers gathered to once again sing the theme song of PBB.

After that, Big Brother talked to the Big 5 and asked them to get ready for their last appeal to the public on why should they vote for them.

This was also the first time for PBB to have an all around the Philippines (nationwide) participation of the supporters for the Big Night. Supporters from different areas of the Philippines gathered in the places where the Big 5 belongs. Like for Tibo, his supporters were all in the Cagayan de oro screaming his name. (aside from those who were in the stadium and their homes). Tibo’s supporters were assisted by the season 1 ex housemate Cass. For Jayson, his other fans, (aside here from manila) gathered at Mindoro, hosted by Uma, season 1 ex housemate. Uma even said some intriguing statements for the fans of Johan. He boastfully said, “Where are the fans of Johan? It seems that I can’t hear them!! Oh – Oh!” ..(that was very funny yet boastful indeed!) for Paul Jake, all his supporters gathered at Cebu, hosted by Nel, season 2 ex housemate, (one of my bets for that season). For Melai, hosted by Ruben (Celebrity Big winner season 2), her other fans, supporters and co – workers gathered at General Santos city. (her place was the farthest place among the Big 5.)

After appealing to the public, each housemate were given a cheer dance especially for them. (very elegant indeed!)

Another remarkable performance of the night was from the international star (I think Graham is familiar with him, for he was known first at Britain’s Got talent). It was Charlie Green. Who sings the love theme song of MELASON, “Can’t take my Eyes Off Of You”. He was also had a duet with Sheryn Regis for the singing of “Pinoy Ako”. While the ex housemates performed the two of the controversial dance tasks of Big brother, the NAKED FAN DANCE AND INSOMIA Tagalog Version respectively. Lastly was the Indian song leaded by Harish, the House Intruder / House Guest / Fake Swap Indian Housemate.

After the said, performances, Big Brother gave his final and very touching messages to the Big 5.

Well, time runs fast and the voting line was soon closed and the final percentages of votes was revealed. (Believe me, it was really an unexpected result!)

But before the announcement of the winners, the preview for the upcoming shows were revealed and spectacular performances were done to break the tension for a while. First was RUBI, the latest Filipino Remake of the Latin American Soap Opera. Secondly was the first ever PILIPINAS GOT TALENT (Got Talents’ Philippine Version, which i would also blog about, starting feb. 20) and Lastly was the revelation for the public of the new season of Teen Edition Big Brother. With the new title, PINOY BIG BROTHER, TEEN EDITION CLASH OF 2010.!! (oohh…so excited, but first, I’ll try my luck again to join for the new set of auditions..please pray for me..and hopefully, they will notice me this time..lol.)

Aside from the previews, other performances were recorded, with Rubi’s Main Cast, the international dance group, JABAWOCKEEZ, and lastly was KIM Chiu, the Big Brother

Teen Edition season 1 Big Winner. They did that for the promotion of the upcoming shows.

After the performances, the results were given and here’s the final percentages of VOTES.

The housemates were assigned with different letter codes symbolizing HEART.

H – 7.69

E – 24.97

A – 32.08

R – 27.31

T – 7.94

Wooh…at first, I was really nervous and excited about the names behind those figures.

Then, the first announcement was for the 1st ever 5th Big Placer of PBB. It was TIBO!

He was warmly welcomed by the public when he came out of the improvised confession room them walked to the stage.

It was followed by the announcement of the 4th Big Placer, who happened to be JOHAN!!!!!! Though, I wanted it to be him for that place, I was disappointed for Tibo, who only finishes the last place. (though I am expecting it.. lol)

Next was the 3rd Big Placer, who was JAYSON!! I was really shocked, for what I expect was it would be Melai, (for the reason that the Big Revealed showed Melai as the 3rd placer, but definitely, I am very happy!!). He was greatly welcomed with all of his supporters who really roars and screamed his name through out the stadium!.

The 2nd Big Placer was announced, and it was PAUL JAKE!!!! Yes!!! I as sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo very very happy with that!!!

And there you have it, the BIG WINNER is none other than MELAI!!!..  after the announcement of her name as the latest title holder, she was welcomed with a special treat of BIG BROTHER and the crowd’s roar making the whole stadium in an undeniable noise of happiness!!! (it came to the point that even the hosts were unable to talk clearly because you cannot hear anything except for the crowd’s cheer and roar for they love MELAI so much!!)). I can’t explain it how but surely you can watch the video how it was happened. All I can say is that it was really a great great Big NIGHT!!!!

TO SUM UP ALL THE EVENTS OF THE BIG NIGHT, HERE ARE SOME OF THE PICTURES TAKEN. (courtesy of http://pinoybigbrother.multiply.com)

Well, the season had already concluded for this time, but the happenings were not yet done. THE BIG REUNION WILL BE ON LAST SUNDAY”S EPISODE OF PBB.

While the afternoon show of PBB (PBB DOUBLE UP UBER) will be still on air for one more week.

Well, for now, BIG Brother’s HOUSE will be closed for the mean time but definitely they have made a promise that it will opwn again on SUMMER!!! And I will blog it for you guys!!

Get ready for the PINOY BIG BROTHER TEEN EDITION CLASH OF 2010!! (PBB Teen Edition 3)

Thanks for reading!!

(this post will be updated very soon if my internet connection will be fix sooner or later.)

PBB DOUBLE UP (THE BIG TRUTH)

Posted in Authors, Big Brother, Big Brother 3 Philippines, Carlex's Blog on February 13th, 2010 by carlex rol

PBB DOUBLE UP (THE BIG TRUTH)

Another and last/final LIVE episode for the primetime was held for the Friday’s episode, dubbed as The Big Truth. This was for the housemates to answer the hot issues of public against them through the interview with the King of Talk, Mr. Boy Abunda. Questions were from the public sent through the e-mail. It was also tagged with a line of “The Big 5 VS the BIG Questions of Public”.

1st was Paul Jake with the opening question of “What’s the biggest disadvantage of being rich in the Big Brother House and the whole question.” Well, I am not interested with him, so, I forgot his answer,(actually, all of their answers were forgotten by me, but only the whole process and nature of interview was the unforgettable one.)

P.J was also asked about his greatest learning in the BB House. And the last question was if he took drugs, and I was really surprised with his answer! He replied with a YES! He explained that he was just to try it because of the peer pressure and the intention of exploration and discovery. (However, I was disappointed with that.)

Second was Tibo, with his opening Question of “Are You Afraid of Paul Jake?”

Well, I must say that he is, but he constantly denied it and said that it was just happened that PJ did nothing wrong for him. He was also asked about his faithfulness to his wife, and he revealed that he was been tempted to have a relationship with another woman besides her wife.

Third was Johan, with his opening question of “How do you find Gays?” it was known, before he enter the BB House, that he had been to many indecent proposals with the least amount of P50,000 pesos. Well, he also explained that he was nothing against with gays and found them friendly and also a human that should received enough respect as well.

Though the first three interviews were all serious. Well, the MELASON love team broke the tension and pressure. (lol)

4th was Jayson, with questions about his real feelings towards Melai. (It was really a funny interview, so funny that I forgot all the details! Lol!)

Last was Melai, whom I could say that it was the “Fast-talk” interview. Melai talked with a machine gun rhythm and it was really funny too!.

Many questions were asked, but I almost forgot it for it was indeed an entertaining interrogation!…

All of them was also asked about their own reasons why their other contenders should not win and be the Big winner while defending themselves for the title.

Well, this is the last episode of PBB DOUBLE UP for primetime, and tomorrow is the BIG DATE ON THE BIG NIGHT. I am so excited and I hope that MELAI would win!

This is my final bet for Big 5 palcings.

BIG WINNER – MELAI

2nd BIG PLACER – Jayson

3rd BIG PLACER – TIBO

4th BIG PLACER – JOHAN

5th Big PLACER – PAUL JAKE

Well, at first I like Johan to finish with the last place, but I found him as a better person that paul jake(for what I have found out on the Big Truth)

Good Luck BIG 5

Thanks for reading!!

PBB DOUBLE UP (THE BIG HIGH FIVE CONCERT)

Posted in Big Brother, Big Brother 3 Philippines, Carlex's Blog on February 13th, 2010 by carlex rol

PBB DOUBLE UP (THE BIG HIGH FIVE CONCERT)

Well, Thursday episode was all about the LIVE telecast for the Big High Five Concert. But before I jump to the said concert, I will tell first about the result of the Big Kapamilya Challenge.

Jayson, who placed on the 5th position, got the longest time to finish the maze with 1.56 seconds. Melai, got 1.16 seconds making her the 4th placer for the challenge. Johan who had the maze for only 1.15 seconds made him the 3rd placer. Tibo got 57 seconds as the 2nd placer, while Paul Jake got 51 seconds making him the winner of the challenge. He chose the refrigerator as a prize and the P150, 000 pesos taken from them by the ex housemates were given back to them. (But the ex housemates were able to get the prize for real, it was just an additional for the Big 5.)

Talking about the concert, it was a by request concert, with matching fun and inspiring messages from their fans (it was read by Toni to the public.)

The first number was a group performance requested by a fan from Norway named Zhy. It was a dance in the tune of “I Got a Feeling”.

Johan was the second one to perform with the song “Alipin” (slave, a love song).

Paul Jake did a song of “Never let Her Slip Away”

Jayson sung “the Man who can’t Be Moved”

The fifth number was a dance showdown of Melai and Tibo. Melai did a Lady Gaga hit dance, “Bad Romance” with Johan, Jayson, and Paul Jake as the back up dancers. (She was really a funny Lady gaga indeed!). While on the other hand, Tibo did it as solo dancing to the beat of “Boom Boom Pow”.

Melai and Jayson did a song duet with the song “Pangako” (Promise) a request from their fans.

The finale was the C4 Boys. (Tibo, Johan, Paul Jake and Jayson). They did a impersonation of the hit Koreanovela group F4, with the lip-synch of the Korean song, “One More Time”.

PBB DOUBLE UP (The Big Kapamilya Challenge)

Posted in Big Brother, Big Brother 3 Philippines, Carlex's Blog on February 13th, 2010 by carlex rol

PBB DOUBLE UP (The Big Kapamilya Challenge)

This episode had just the review of the expected fake eviction and the party of the BIG 5.

Pinoy Big Balita (Philippine Big News) was also discussed telling the housemates about the latest news on the outside world particularly about their love ones. The anchor was Gretchen, former celebrity edition 1 housemate.

The Big Kapamilya Challenge was about winning the additional prizes aside from the promised one for the Big 4 and a surprise prize for the winner. (I think it was the money taken away by the ex housemates.)

The game was simple. It was a maze, and a housemate must finish it. But the added twist, they were playing while they have a blind fold. Since the title of the game was Big Kapamilya (meaning relative) therefore, they were joined by their love ones. Their love ones serve as their coaches to finish the maze waiting on the finish line. (their love ones used mega phone to dictate what should they do.

First was Melai, with her mother, and it was a funny funny funny part of the episode!! Lol.. I really love her! She’s just so spontaneous.

Second was Johan, with his mother too. It was a touching moment when they already hug.

Third was Paul Jake with his girlfriend. It was a sweet moment of course where the only thing they do was to kiss each other. Lol

Fourth was Tibo, with his wife, and I don’t have to say anything, coz it was a touching moment too.

Last was Jayson, who happened to be a funny one too. While playing, he had destroyed one of the walls of the maze. Lol. And his mother was very proud of her son, when she keep on saying that, “You’re so great! How handsome my son is!..)lol

The winner was not yet revealed, and I think, it would be tomorrow’s highlight aside from the BIG HIGH FIVE CONCERT. IT’S LIVE!!

PBB DOUBLE UP (The BIG REVEAL)

Posted in Authors, Big Brother 3 Philippines, Carlex's Blog on February 13th, 2010 by carlex rol

Before I start talking about the latest twist, the housemates were waked up by the theme song of MELASON, “Can’t take my eyes off of you” which was recorded with the voice of Jayson as the singer.

Two packages came in the house, one for each house, (HOUSE A housemates were Tibo and Melai while HOUSE B has Paul Jake, Johan and Jayson.). The packages contain the sentimental and important things for them that the three house players have taken away from them as one of their missions. When they received the packages, they were surprised of course.

On the other hand, the episode was a LIVE telecast because it was a FAKE EVICTION. They thought that one of them would be evicted because of the said BIG 4.

All the housemates were in the confession room when Toni (the host) talks the housemates. The announcements were done through a BIG STATEMENT telling that they were going to the Big Night. (Of course, unknown to them, they will all go to the Big Night.)

First was Melai for she is automatically up for the finals. Her BIG STATEMENT serves as an example for the rest that they have to receive that the same statement in order for them to be included in the Big Night. Second was Paul Jake and thirdly was Tibo. Jayson and Johan were left in the Confession room thinking that one of them will go.

On the other hand, the first three was talking to Big Brother. BB told them the twist about the Big 4 turned into Big 5 and Melai showed her happiness! (As if she was dying because of happiness.) BB asked them for help on how they would tell Jayson and Johan about the great news.

After the commercial break, I was surprised for what I saw next was that Jayson and Johan were both facing the swimming pool. Big Brother then told them that the sign for the next housemates to stay in the house until the Big Night is the one who will fall in the pool. At BB’s command, Melai and Paul Jake pushed Jayson and Johan to the pool, indicating that they both survived the eviction. Big brother then talked and congratulate the BIG 5.

After that, a great Band, leaded by former celebrity season 2 housemate Mcoy, welcomed and congratulated the Big 5.

Well, its not only about revealing about the truth to the housemates about the BIG 5 but it was all about the BIG REVEAL to the public about the latest standing votes as of that moment. (For the 1st time in the history of PBB, or I think even in the other editions of the world, the standings/ranking of the housemates competing for the Big Winner title was shown to the public 4 days before the Big Night)

Here are the results, and I was shocked because my bet was only at the 3rd place. (its not yet final)

PAUL JAKE – 31.66

JAYSON – 23.21

MELAI – 20.93

JOHAN – 13.39

TIBO – 10.81

..though it seemed that Paul Jake is the winner, its not yet official and final!..lol
